Interview copy and pasted from the Chinese board. Everyone was stunned Team Europe didn't come out dead last (Lol... largely thanks to Liza and emm.. Miki) or that may be the Japanese insist on being a good host (?!).

Interviews Team North America: How do you feel about the victory?

Patrick: It's first for NA, very glad

Jeffrey: First comp in a few years, happy to be here, fans're fantastic!

Joannie: Excited to come here and win first time, not easy to do long program but proud how we did!

Alissa: Winning was exciting and enjoyed skating here!

The protocols

Joannie always skates well at this event - 1st in 2009, 1st in 2010, 2nd in 2011 behind Tuktamisheva. Very impressive considering she hasn't competed in official competition since the Vancouver Olympics and isn't training anywhere near as much as all the other Olympic eligibles she is competing against. Had she decided to continue on competing past the 2010 Olympics, she very well may could have won a World title, a 4CC title, and certainly more Canadian titles, as she is still very clearly Canada's best lady. Amazing! I really miss seeing her on competitive ice!

Seriously. I miss her so much.

Thank you for the reports, Midori. Hearing about these programs I'm getting excited for the season.

Oh Midori, thank you so much for the reports! It was so great to wake up this morning and find this :).

Sounds like Alissa is going for the 3/3...good for her. My favorite Japanese lady Akiko did well also. Can't wait to see their programs as the season progresses :watch:

Carnival On Ice:
Dai's program was perhaps his new exhibition program. A piano song with one untuned tone. It was very quiet and beautiful, with smooth edges and jumps from nowhere.

Aliona/Robin was wonderful as always.

Sarah somehow landed a double axel in the gala. Hope she is not pushing herself too much because I want to see her skating for long time. The program was the one she skated in All That Skate Summer in this August, not myself tonight or something. Jeffrey played the guy at rinkside.

Jeffrey did the harder-stronger program.

Miki skated two full programs, Black Swan and the thousand winds program. She did both of them perfectly and got a lot of standing ovations.

At the finale Daisuke, Patrick, Kozuka, and Hanyu all went for the quad at the same time. :cheer:
Patrick landed 4t and Dai landed 4F. I think Hanyu stepped out it and I could not see how Kozuka did.

Thanks Midori for telling us what's happening! Does anyone know if/where/when we can see these performances?
Wonder what on earth happened to Miki in freeskate? Glad she recovered for the exhibition though.
The multiple quadfest sounds amazing!
Kudos to Liza for rising to the occasion when she wasn't even supposed to be there originally. I am now seriously excited about the new season!

Congratulations to team America who won the competition, second team Europe and third team Japan

Midori, you're brilliant!!!

Please let this be the one time the board doesn't go crazy over Chan winning with 3 falls...

I think it is kind of funny that Patric indeed won again with three falls :D:D
It's his signature style now.

Just got done reviewing the protocols:

4sal for Amodio was rotated.

Gachinski attempted and landed 1 Quad - 4toe

Chan fell 3times.

Alissa went for a 3z-3t [was called << on the 3t], 2 3loops, a three jump combo moved to the 2d half of program, and doubled the planned 3sal. Pretty Ambitious! Oh, and no e call on her 3flip. Is it fixed, or was it ignored. Want to see a video ...:) Only fell once but was able to get back into the rest of her elements.

Alena and Akiko had higher scores but were much cleaner than Alissa's ambitions

I think this skate was promising for Alissa even if the protocols show the downgrades definitely got her. It is early in the season, after all. I love that she went for the 3/3 even if it was << I have my doubts about her ever getting it completely around but maybe a < is possible?

Any clue what music she skated to?!?
Probably you have already found out but Joannie skated to Firebird as the costume implied ;).

I'm so happy Joannie skated to Firebird, I love that program!
