Interesting that there's nothing about Euros and Four Continents has been decided. Usually it's the other way round.

So Worlds will either be in Yoyogi in Tokyo or the Saitama Super Arena (http://www.saitama-arena.co.jp/e/) then, I guess?

Plushy reinstated...no surprises there. Congrats to him.

I'm surprised Japan didn't request 2015 Worlds instead. The post-Oly Worlds tends to be really anti-climactic.

If Japan wins a gold medal in Sochi, it won't be for the Japanese public. ;)

The press release says that "the decision for the allotment of the ISU European Figure Skating Championships 2014, the ISU World Sprint Speed Skating Championships 2014 and the ISU World Synchronized Skating
Championships 2013 and 2014 has been postponed."

I heard that there were many applications for 2014 Euros, so they probably need some more time to think.

As for Worlds 2014 in Japan, I was thinking that the Japanese Federation might want it as some of their top skaters might retire after 2014 and they want them to compete at their Worlds.

Interesting thanks. I read here that Stockholm was one of the cities being considered, but I suppose many are interested because it will be before the Olympics in Sochi.

Yes, Mao, Miki, Daisuke and Nobunari will all probably retire after the 2013/2014 season.

Does Bulgaria get Junior Worlds about every other year or am I imagining? :P

Yes, I was wondering about that too. Junior Worlds was in Sofia in both 2008 and 2009. Why is the event being hosted there again so soon?

There are probably not many federations applying to host a competition that involves hosting so many skaters and brings in so few paying spectators and so little TV revenue.

Or maybe Plushy will inspire them to just keep going and going....
