So. . . um. . . no one else finds it a wee bit peculiar seeing romantic themes between a 16/17-year-old (ie, underage) and a 30-something-year-old? I can see that the sex/romance is relatively toned down for the Malaguena (and I appreciate the choreographer's emphasis on lines and shapes--pretty cool), and the second link is to a cutesy-wootsy type of number but still romantic.

Still--kudos for the nice SBS 3toes & 3sals.

What an amazing program! Thanks for posting. And a sbs triple loop as well :)

Is there another program where they do SBS 3loop, or were you talking about the 3salchows in Malaguena?

Its awesome when you are a huge skating fan and you find something that is pleasantly surprising. You spend hours watching Youtube and there is little by way of performances that you havent seen and then WHAM out of nowhere you find something incredible!

So true. That's really the whole story of being a skating fan, right?

I had forgotten how watchable Tara was. We had 3 really young girls win the Olympic ladies medals, and I think watching these videos of Tara with the incomparable Kurt that she was the one of the 3 with the most natural and instinctive talent for skating as art, not just an athletic sport. I always like watching skaters who can keep your attention through a whole programme evne when there are few tricks. It is a shame she didn't stay with it to show us what would have come to the ice with her maturing personality.

Nice -- thanks for the link.

But I would say "Kurt Browning and Tara Lipinski skate a duet," not that they "skate pairs" (as in the sport of competitive pair skating), considering that there are no pair elements in the program.

My thoughts too. But it wasn't in a competition, and was quite lovely. Didn't Ilia Kulik skate a number with Oksana Baiul, and another with Katia Gordeeva? We should see more duets in a Stars On Ice setting.

^Thanks for the links. Loved Ilia and Katia! They both sizzled in
that program! Kudos to CD for his creative and wonderful choreography.

And this Russian Quartet from SOI 1998-1999 was wonderful:
