I didn't see a thread for this.

The Japan Skating Federation decided Friday to send world silver medalist Takahiko Kozuka and Akiko Suzuki to a charity ice show in Detroit on June 9 aimed at raising funds for relief efforts in earthquake-hit Japan.

Sylvia mentioned it in this post (http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3194222&postcount=54) in the Charity and Club Show thread. Meryl and Charlie, the Shibs, Weaver and Poje and Alissa will also participate in some of the shows.

Is the seating all bleachers? Don't know if I could do bleachers for an entire show. Thanks for info.

There is non-bleacher seating but you have to pay more for it.

Thanks for the info. I called and bought a ticket...had to settle for handicapped seating which will be fine. Can't do a lot of steps since I had knee surgery recently. I am just so excited! I usually prefer competitions to shows, but am really looking forward to this.

In case anyone else is attending, I will be on a folding chair in the handicapped section. Stop by and say hello :D

I'll be there on Thursday night.

Wish we could go to this one, but we live nowhere near Detroit.

Following the Ice Show, DSC is having a Meet the Skaters Party in their lounge.

I also bought a ticket for the "meet & greet" after the show. I expect to be completely tongue tied and in awe . At Nationals the most I have ever been able to say to a skater is something like 'I loved your program'. It should be fun though and since its for a good cause I figured why not go.

Looking forward to reading impressions of and highlights from next week's show and Thursday's meet-and-greet! :) Who else is planning on attending and can report back here?
