Not sure what you mean by where, but I am in NJ, and was at a 4th celebration, several people there, were lawyers/law students (two of which just finished crimlaw). I should say that their opinion on what the jury might find, is not necessarily what they believe they should find. I think we all believe Casey killed her. The issue is that they don't believe they proved their case beyond circumstantial. Or you meant reasonable doubt? Because I don't think they have to prove any case "beyond circumstantial". Circumstantial evidence is as valid as any other evidence. You either believe it or not.

I know circumstantial evidence is valid, but I could never recommend a death penalty on it. I can't believe they allow that. Too many innocent men have been put to death. It shouldn't just be judged without a shadow of the doubt, I don't think the death penalty should be used without DNA evidence, even for a monster.
This is the reason why I don't support the death penalty either, even with DNA evidence. The technology simply isn't there to point to someone with 110% certainty, and IMO you need that to justify killing someone in the name of the law.

As much as I can't stand Casey and think she's guilty, I can help but feel sorry for her. What a waste of life (hers, her daughter and her entire family's). I hope people are not going to rejoice in the streets if she's found guilty.

yes, rejoicing in the street is not an appropriate reaction

Good on Judge Perry for requesting those in the courtroom not to express any reaction.

The FCUK?!?! Not guilty on 1st degree of murder or aggravated child abuse?

Not guilty of aggravated manslaughter? Not guilty?

Guilty of providing false information. That's it?

GOD DAMNIT.

I haven't paid attention to this trial at all, but someone at the desk next to me is streaming the coverage and I'm hearing she's been found not guilty of any murder charges, but seems to have been found guilty on just about every charge of misleading officials.
