Is anyone watching Cheney Mason trying to trip up Roy Kronk?
He's just alienating the jury and punching holes in his own case. I think he's gone senile, actually....why doesn't Judge Perry tell him to stop badgering the witness and asking the same questions over and over?
Kudos to Kronk for not losing his temper and telling Mason to go to hell.

Had Casey been found by Judge Perry incompetent to continue, I'm don't know what they would have done with her.

I'm not certain of FL law, but where I live they'd probably have to declare a mistrial. Casey would have to go to a state psychiatric hospital where they would attempt to restore her competency for trial. Every 180 days there would be a written report submitted to the court and the attorneys. Any statute of limitations or procedural time limits would be tolled.

In California, this cycle can go on for up to only three years, even if the maximum sentence for the pending crime is much longer than that.

I have to say, I was rather impressed by Roy Kronk's ability to not stand up and scream at Mr. Mason!

^No kidding!

Given Lee's testimony today....I think Lee has some anger issues too........the whole family is bonkers. Poor Caylee.

Honestly I don't blame Lee or George for getting mad on the stand, George's affair with a volunteer and Lee's exclusion from the family has NOTHING to do with what happened to Caylee. George and Lee are not on trial, Casey is and the emphasis should be on her and what happened to Caylee.

By the way, the woman who George had the "affair" with said she was dying of a brain tumor, seems pretty healthy now after three years and if George had told her what happened to Caylee, why didn't she report it to the police??

My understanding was that Judge Perry wanted testimony, at least, wrapped up by July 4 holiday. Not sure that's going to happen.

After the defense is done, the prosecution will put on its rebuttal case. I understand they've subpoened two employees, an executive and a tech specialist, from the facility Cindy was working at when she said she made the searches for "chloroform" at her home. If Cindy is found to have committed perjury, not sure what the penalty, if any, will be.

ETA: And if Casey testifies, that should go on a very long time.

So has defense wrapped up yet? Last time I checked, yesterday morn, "meter reader guy" was still testifing...and then "meter reader guy's son" came on. Not sure what's happening now. We don't have TV in office.

Casey has just told Judge Perry that she will not testify, and the defense rested.

Well - wowsers! I think we should start betting on how long the jury will take to deliberate. I am thinking it is a no brainer. But, then I have the insight of all the media stuff.

Tough judge - he just gave some young man in the gallery 6 days in county jail, $400 fine and $223 court costs for flipping Mr. Ashton the bird in court.

This is the third incident. It's up on youtube.

Judge Perry is going to give a stern warning  to that gallery before the verdict is read.

Otherwise, Judge Perry is pure charm. I love how he slightly purses his lips while a lawyer makes a poor argument (usually Baez, ahem).

ETA: Twitter is going wild reporting the young man's place of employment is being overrun with telephone calls.

What was the third one? (I only saw this one, and the one lady who made the outburst during jury selection).

What a friggin' idiot. Clearly he did it on purpose. Hope it was worth getting an arrest record attached to your name the rest of your life buddy. I don't understand why people even want to be in that courtroom anyway and just sit there all day and not move, not talk, not risk falling asleep (which I did many times during all those boring guys Baez put up!). I can sit in my home and watch the whole damn thing on TV. Why all the craziness about getting into that courtroom? Don't get that at all.

Actually, it was the first one, and it came early and should have set the tone for these idiots.

It was a potential juror who, during a break during voir dire, approached a producer of one of the networks (!) on how to best get out of jury duty. The producer reported him to court personnel. Judge Perry, on camera, questioned him and found him in contempt of court. I believe he only got a fine. That too, had been up on youtube.

As it is, today's young man is trending number one on twitter. Are these people trying to get a tv deal from this nonsense? (i.e., balloon boy).
