So we continue our discussion on news from Russian figure skating here. :-)

Any news on Julia Lipnitskaya? I am more excited about her than I have been about anyone in years. I know her flexibilty wont remain the same once she goes through puberty but her items are pretty phenomenal for a bendy girl, plus her performance ability is quite exeptional for one who's so good technically. Any news would be much appreciated.

It was written in the previous Russian thread that the USA does not allow foreign skaters training in the US. If this is true then how do V&M, Denis Ten, Chan, W&P and P&B get away with training there?

I don't think it's true that they don't allow foreign skaters, but the visa requirements for Canadians and EU nations are different and considerably more relaxed. Doesn't explain Denis Ten, though.

I know she skated with Morozov's group when they were in Russia and Morozov choreographed new programs for her and Shelepen (no idea about the music)

It's just difficulties with visas for Russian citizens. And it's almost summer now, a lot of students from Russia going to the US for "Work and travel" program and need visas too. RFSF hoped for an exception for athletes but USA didn't make it, so...

I'm glad the Visa requirements are strict to come to the US. There are a lot of people who have a grudge against this country and we don't need to let them in. We've seen before what people like that can do.

Posted in the "From Russia with Love 3" thread:

Urmanov also wants to go to USA with his students, but again problems with visas.
I believe he's scheduled for a 2-week seminar in Newington, Connecticut in June so it would be a shame if he couldn't make it.

Poeple like that? Do you mean people like skaters? How dangerous it is to let elite figure skaters in!
