I really don't think Idol is worried. It was the number 1 (and 2) rated show. The Voice wasn't even top ten.

This season and it's only been on four weeks and has already been renewed for next season which speaks volumes. And it's not even in the live rounds yet.

DWTS beat them last season which is why they moved nights.

I won't watch the performance show, but I will watch the results because I want to see the other performances.

This. Plus I think David Cook is going to be on. :grope:

I don't think Scotty needed to sing opera, either, hell, but that he couldn't even stretch himself to do something like Poison's "Every Rose Has its Thorn" is very telling. It was ALL country.

Randy and Steven have been re-signed for next year. They are trying to keep Jennifer. Clearly someone is happy. :saint:

I think Randy and Steven signed multi-year contracts before this season started, so they were a given for next year. I don't think they were re-signed during this season. Honestly, the folks on the Voice panel really do make the Idol judging panel look bad, and it's not like the Idol panel needed help.

I have said and thought, all along, that Scotty has a really good voice. I'm not a country fan, but I could hear that he was doing it well. Last night, he was boring, it was like he sang the same song 3 times. And why would they make him sing She Believes in Me? How many times have we heard the judges tell a contestant that they need to make the song current? Scotty came across about as dated as it gets.

Being another non-country fan, I agree with all you said. My thing with "She Believes In Me" was that Scotty was too twangy. Kenny Rogers made it a hit on the pop charts without it sounding too country. And when Scotty does other more fun songs, he has to make faces like he is making fun of the song. That being said, I like his charm and personality when he is interacting with the judges and Ryan.

I don't care if either Scotty or Lauren wins. I want Haley to be in the top two with one of them, but I think she will have a better career if she doesn't win and have to be THE American Idol (like Chris Daughtry has done, and I'm sure James will do).

I voted 3 times for Haley last night and once for Scotty.

(grabbing my friend's purse and slamming it onto the seat next to me...)

So sorry. This seat is taken...

Elle Fanning sounded really ditzy, and I don't care who her six year old cousin likes.

God knows I'm no fan of the judges at Idol, but I just really don't think the show is in any danger.

I thought that was cute but I'm a sucker for the Fanning girls.:)

Spain's answer to Il Divo? They're actually better.
