Skaters who are paired together for competition reasons are not creepy. Posters who think creepy things about said skaters are...imo

I was being sarcastic in case you couldn't tell. ;)

I remember reading somewhere that John has a girlfriend he lives with... Am I misremembering?

Why is everybody so negative about the pair? I like them a lot, I'll be rooting for them to win Nationals in 2012.

That was a few years ago. He dated Stephanie Kuban (senior pair skater) for a few years. They are not together anymore. She is a professional pair skater doing shows on cruise ships now.

Why is everybody so negative about the pair?

Because we don't like the style of the two skaters separately and are unlikely to like them together?

I wouldn't say "everybody" is negative in this thread. But it does appear to be the majority opinion.

I hope people will at least give them a decent applause when introduced at Nationals next year... no boos hopefully

Me, too! I'm really looking forward to seeing them skate together. :watch:

I should hope so too! I can't imagine booing a team at nationals. Has it happened before? (Not booing of scores which a skater took to meant they were being booed)

I have a feeling we will see lots of cute little pics and interviews between now and Nationals. All will be designed to diffuse the general bad feeling that may exist about the way all of this was handled. JMO

No, it has never happened. Scores are booed. Speedy is booed (at International events), but skaters aren't booed.

But people love to throw that out as a possibility. :P

Booing actual skaters at a skating event would be *very* poor form. Very bad taste. It really isn't something that's part of skating culture, and I'm glad about that.

I'd be shocked if that happened. I don't think a skater/pair has ever been booed? (only marks?)

Most of the audience attending is probably made up of casual fans, anyway, who may not even be aware of the situation or care nearly as much about it (I think).
