Caitlin's beautiful line, posture and overall elegance will be really missed - by me, anyway.

US pairs rarely care about such things.

But many U.S. fans do.

By me as well. She was the first U.S. pairs skater in ages that really made me sit up and notice. I'm hoping she can find a worthy partner that will match her elegance. This is the kind of skater that I love representing the USA on the world stage.

That said, I see lots of potential in Denney and Coughlin. I think their styles are more similar than Caitlin's and Coughlin's were. I doubt they will ever be elegant, but they could be very exciting and charismatic. I'll never be a big fan, but I will appreciate all they accomplish.

We called this quite a while back ;) Makes for a dull press release when everyone knows the news!!!

Oh, well. Here's hoping for the best and for Caitlin Y to find a suitable partner.

Absolutely. The judges care, too. :)

Now there's really no US Pairs teams to root for....

Caitlin's beautiful line, posture and overall elegance will be really missed - by me, anyway.

I feel exactly the same way. This is a bad, bad pairing. Caitlin was exquisite. Denney is dredful and has not improved in the past 3 years. I am not looking forward to this new pair at all.

Also, I can't understand it: Caitlin could land her 3S and 2A. What was the problem?

It's still so baffling. Why did M/T break up. Because he wanted to leave her and Vassilev. Why did V/M break up. He wanted to retire and he was not good enough. Y/C total mystery.

*barfs* disgusted John could leave such a beautiful and lovely skater who he seemed to have great rapport with for this unpolished clunky looking teenager.

I am hoping for 2 good teams to come out of this.

If Denney & Coughlin become a surprisingly good team and Caitlyn finds a partner that suits her even better than John and becomes a highly succesful team I wont mind so much. Right now it is not pleasing news though, although not surprising. Like others have said Caydee hasnt improved one iota since 2009.

I'm sorry, I will never be able to root for this team. John Coughlin took out of contention (IMO) the finest female pair skater the US has had in years without a single explanation. I hope this is an Anissina/Volosozhar situation where Caitlin will find a new (better) partner quickly, and hopefully, stays within the US because she is a lovely skater.
