Some things matter a lot more than an "imperfect" dress at an event:

Awwwwww!

Thanks for that link PDilemma. What a great thing for Kate to do and what a shot to the spirits that letter provided to that young boy and his Family. Will be adding them to my own thoughts and prayers that all goes well and his Bone Marrow Transplant can go ahead for him.

Came across this today while catching up on stuff online after a weekend w/on and off power...

Daily Mail ~ 'My grandma is incredible,' says Prince William in exclusive, unprecedented and candid interview with author and journalist Robert Hardman (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2041213/Prince-William-Queen-Elizabeth-exclusive-interview--My-grandma-incredible.html)

What a great read it is too.

Awww, that's so kind of Kate. :)

I think the Beulah London dress could have looked much nicer had it either been sleeveless or if she'd put her hair up for a change. Right now the whole ensemble just looks a little too casual. My most favorite dress of Kate's recently is this one (http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/09/25/article-2041520-0E12C93E00000578-535_306x688.jpg) - I imagine there aren't a gazillion photos of it like all her other dresses because it was a private wedding, but man, I LOVE that dress. :swoon:

Someone else posted this site before, but I have to give another plug to What Kate Wore (http://whatkatewore.com/) - my current guilty obsession!

I bought the Robert Hardman book (on my Kobo) and have been reading it over the last week or so. It's very interesting. Very complimentary of the Queen, of course, given that he had cooperation from the Palace and senior members of the court, so there's no dirt, but I'm very fond of the Queen myself so I'm not looking for that. It's a very interesting look behind the scenes at how things work, and a lot of attention was given to the major overhauls financially and socially that the Queen and court went through in the 90s. I haven't finished the book yet, but so far I'd recommend it.

First off...Thanks for that, as I haven't seen that picture before. I think that could be from a couple of weeks ago when my old monitor died and I was inbetween it and the new one getting to me.

Second...It looks an awful lot like the navy/periwinkle dress she wore here during the Cdn Tour in the Summer. I'm too wiped to go looking now (Would have been in bed long before now, but darned sugar decided to take a real dip and now I'm even more wiped out than before. ), but it looks an awful lot like the same dress. Only in red of course. :)

Every time I read this thread title my first thought is that FSU's own Rex has earned some great honor. :D

Many people thought it was the same dress in a different colour at first but it's not. Different designer.

So do I!
I wish we had a better picture and description of the dress/design information,

And he should!

Anyway, not feelin' that red doily dress, sorry. One of the very few fashion missteps for Kate IMO.

And yet another royal wedding -- interesting photoblog from Indonesia:

(I didn't realize Indonesia had any royalty.)

I don't think the red dress suited Kate. Shade was compleatly wrong for her skin tone and with a long dress with long sleeves she should wear her hair up.

A couple other views of the red lace dress (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GnzbgkzW3iM/ToCqQHJURYI/AAAAAAAAYoY/2iQr2F6kx4I/s1600/22222.jpg) (I'm not sure if the picture in the middle is quite the same dress - the lace looks similar, but the neckline and waistline both look different to me.) That dress might also have inspired me to buy this shirt minus the belt (http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1ce9209) :shuffle: hey, at least I got it way on sale!

Thanks, I think the dress is lovely on the Duchess.
I don't think that it resembles a doily!

The lace is the same design, and is the same color. Which I suppose someone could copy, but matching lace is actually kinda hard, so I doubt it's a copy.
