Another royal wedding, this one in Bhutan:
http://worldblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/10/12/8286697-royal-wedding-fever-grips-mysterious-nation

Ms. Pema is absolutely gorgeous. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:20110506-IMG_2120.jpg) May they have a happy, healthy life together. :)

ETA: HM The King is foxy, too!

ETA x2: Ok, I'm officially hooked on the Bhutanese wedding festivities!

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wedding_of_Jigme_Khesar_Namgyel_Wangchuck,_King_of _Bhutan,_and_Jetsun_Pema), events kick off at 4 a.m. (!!!!) tomorrow (6 p.m. today ET).

It's gonna be a combo wedding/coronation! Sigh, wish there was a way we could :watch: .

Prince Harry's in the US for about 2 months doing Apache helicopter training. Right now he's in El Centro, California and in a few weeks, will move to an air base in Arizona. So those in the San Diego or Las Vegas areas, keep an eye out for him! He's been to San Diego already (the Vegas part is my speculation, given that he's in the vicinity and he likes to club)

Official Royal Wedding Website for Bhutan Royal Wedding (http://www.bbs.com.bt/bbs/royalwedding/)

There are links there to watch everything, but I can't say if they work outside of Bhutan, as I'm on Dial Up. I hope so for those in the thread that can handle live streaming broadcasts on line. :)

In other news...

Crown Princess Victoria shows her support for Swedish Breast Cancer Awareness efforts by wearing the Association's bracelet. The following is in Swedish...

Victoria i Lindex rosa armband (http://kungligamodebloggen.svenskdam.se/victoria-i-lindex-rosa-armband/)

And...

Kate's first Patronage has been announced. She's become officially a Patron of The Prince William and Prince Harry Foundation.

The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry ~ Press Release of October 3rd, 2011 (http://www.princeofwales.gov.uk/newsandgallery/focus/the_foundation_of_prince_william_and_prince_harry_ 570302665.html)

The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry was set up in September 2009 to enable The Princes to take forward their charitable ambitions. The Duchess of Cambridge, now officially a Patron of the Foundation, shares similar charitable interests to her husband and Prince Harry and will also use her position to help those in need.

It makes sense and also not that big a surprise that she'd become a Patron of the Foundation, but it's still a Patronage and it's the first!!

Ok, I'm at my library gig until 9pm ET, so I'm assuming the library has an internet connection hardcore enough to pick up a signal.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand (drumroll please):

The BBS (Bhutan Broadcasting System) feed currently shows a director's control room with about 10 different computer screens and a couple of office chairs. No official wedding feed yet.....at least not in the US. :(

And quite possibly the most useful gift given back to the Bhutan people in honor of the wedding:
"As part of activities to celebrate the royal wedding, the agriculture machinery centre is travelling around the entire length and breadth of the country providing free repair and maintenance service for farm machinery."

One of the German teachers at D's high school was Inge Sargent, who married the prince of a state of Burma. Very sad ending to the story when her husband was executed in a coup, but still a remarkable story for all that. She didn't learn that she was a princess until she arrived in Burma! It was quite an interesting story, and she wrote about it in a book called, "Twilight Over Burma," which your library may have.

Ok, so the message on BBS is now:

"BBS transmission begins at 6pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends.
Rebroadcast at 6am.
Bhutan Broadcasting Service
PO Box 101, Thimphu"

It is currently 5:51am in Bhutan. Maybe something in 9 minutes?

ETA: It's on! Such exotic glamour!

Well, ok, at the moment, it's just a priest talking, but the decor is FABULOUS. What gorgeous colors!

ETA x2: Um, I'm not sure I'm even watching the wedding.......could be just the Bhutanese version of the "Today" show...............but I'm just gonna go with it. :D

Autumn and Peter have joined the list of those who will be adding on to their respective Royal Family trees in the coming months... :)

Daily Mail ~ Peter and Autumn Phillips announce they are to have a second child (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2049402/Peter-Autumn-Phillips-announce-second-child.html)

Autumn's due in March and I think we really need to start putting a list of all of the expectant Royals out there. Just by importance, the most important Royal on the way is Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden's little one, as he or she will be Second in Line to the Throne. Regardless, I've lost count of who is expecting in the coming months, but I know it's a pretty long list.

And...We had a William and Kate evening engagement as well Thursday night...

Daily Mail ~ Duchess in red: William and Kate are guests of honour at charity gala (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2049101/Duchess-Cambridge-Kate-Middleton-lady-red-charity-gala.html)

I like the dress and the colour's amazing on Kate, *but* there needed to be a bit of bling. A necklace of some sort would have finished it off perfectly. Other than that...I like it. What I like even more though is how rested Kate looks and also that she's put a wee bit of weight back on. She looks really good IMO.

Some things matter a lot more than an "imperfect" dress at an event:

What's the Infinite Dress? I sort of like that red dress although I agree it could use a bit more bling.
