So, so, so very happy for the both of them. :)

edited to add...I just thought, this is one of those very few times when rumours about someone in the Public Eye are confirmed, that it's a truly lovely thing to find out about. :)

edited *again* to add...The Official Statement from the Royal Court...

Totally happy for Victoria & Daniel! :cheer2:
Here's a photo of Vic from today. (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/slideshow/ALeqM5hkoxSFrWYwzHt7fdvjKpgbny7KWw?docId=1b59da0d6 8ff491bab2637edc28a84f3&index=1&ned=us)
She looks absolutely happy and relieved.
The "long" waiting (at least under "royal" circumstances :shuffle: ) is over.

How old is she and the father?

Crown Princess Victoria - born 14 July 1977.
Prince Daniel - born 15 September 1973.

Crown Princess Victoria - born 14 July 1977.
Prince Daniel - born 15 September 1973.

Princess Victoria looks so much older than her age in that picture. She looks to be in her mid 50s. Is she a sun worshipper and a smoker? Although she does look better in the other picture from the article above.

From Aftonbladet and translated by one of the members of The Royal Forums...

King and Queen: Great news

Yesterday came the news: Crown Princess Victoria is pregnant.

Today the prospective grandparents tell about their joy over receiving the news.

They choose to comment on the upcoming grandchild today in a statement.

- It is wonderful news and we both rejoice with the Crown Princess couple. We wish the Crown Princess couple a quiet, peaceful and harmonious period, writes the royal couple.

The prospective grandparents on the father's side already have two grandchildren, but look forward to another.

A couple of things over at The Royal Order of Splendour...

To celebrate the happy news from Sweden...

Flashback Fridays ~ Victoria's Tiaras (http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2011/08/flashback-friday-victorias-tiaras.html)

Although the majority of the pictures of her wearing it have it placed the wrong way on her head, I have seen Victoria wear the Amethyst Tiara properly (on an angle on her head) and more like the last picture of the ones of her wearing it over there and it's my personal favourite of the ones we've seen her in. The Baden Fringe also looks stunning on her as well.

And to celebrate the upcoming 10th Wedding Anniversary of The Crown Prince and Princess of Norway...

Tiara Thursday ~ The Diamond Daisy Tiara (http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2011/08/tiara-thursday-diamond-daisy-tiara.html)

The Swedes have some fabulous tiaras, that's for sure! My favorite is also the amethyst tiara, mostly because one doesn't see many amethyst tiaras, and it's very bold in its statement. It's very pretty. The Steel Cut tiara is also a favorite of mine.

On the flip side, I detest the Swedish button tiaras. They are the epitome of everything that is bad about button tiaras. It's like they had a few extra sets of brooches laying around and decided to just stick them on top of a wire frame like lollipops. I'm sure they were lovely back in the Victorian era when the women had mountains of fake hair attached to their heads. But now they just look awkward with most of the more modern hairstyles.

Button Tiaras aren't my favourites either and for that exact reason. Although, the lollipop comparison isn't one I've thought of before and now I won't be able to *not* think that the next time any of the two Swedish Button Tiaras make an appearance. Pity I don't have Photoshop to have some fun w/that idea. :D

William and Kate visited Birmingham yesterday and also met w/the Families of the men that were killed in Birmingham during the Riots that took place.

The Mirror ~ UK Riots : Prince William says we must all fight back together on Birmingham visit with Kate (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/08/20/uk-riots-prince-william-says-we-must-all-fight-back-together-on-birmingham-visit-with-kate-115875-23357538/)

Daughter Akanksha, 21, a trainee accountant who helps run the shop, said: “Dad showed William and Kate the CCTV pictures of the rioters in the shop.

“William said ‘I can’t believe that the youngest looter was ten years old. It’s amazing the shop was so badly damaged and you have recovered so quickly’.

“At first Kate couldn’t believe 70 looters came in here. She asked twice – she said ‘70?’. Finally my dad said, ‘Yes, seven-zero came in’. Kate couldn’t believe it. I could see she genuinely cared. Kate was sad for us as a family.”

Crown Princess Victoria isn't the only Princess expecting anymore...

From the Royal Danish Court...

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie is expecting a baby

Amalienborg, 24 August 2011

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie is pleased to announce that Princess Marie is pregnant.

The birth is expected to take place at Rigshospitalet in late January 2012.

Kurt Bache
Chamberlain, Colonel
Private Secretary

Joachim has two boys from his first marriage to Princess Alexandra, Princes Nikolai and Felix, and little Prince Henrik w/Marie. I really would love for this little one to be a little Princess. Not only for Joachim, Marie and the boys to have a little girl to spoil, but so Bella and Josephine have at least one girl cousin on their Royal side of the Family Tree too. :)

Congratulations to the Danish Royal Family on the lovely news!!! :)

Tiny "Royal Wedding" in Potsdam/Germany: Georg-Friedrich Prinz von Preussen (Prussia) just married Sophie Prinzessin von Isenburg. Actually George-Frederic would be German "Kaiser" today, if we wouldn't have sent ol' Willy and the entire monarchy off to pension in 1918.

Both are hardly known here (at least until their wedding). From what I've read they lead a pretty "normal" life. They seem to be quite down-to-earth people, rarely appear in public, hardly giving any interviews etc. Although still wealthy, they've "civil" full-time jobs.

A few photos and screenshots:

I really like her dress. It's a little different without being ridiculous.

I love her dress.
Are there any full-length pictures?
