Some photos of Prince Christian of Denmark (son of the Crown Prince Frederik) on his first day of school with his parents:
http://politiken.dk/fotografier/ECE1359326/prins-christian-se-min-nye-skoletaske/

He is the first Danish royalty who will go to a public school, and they had a photo session before he went there so they could ask the journalists to not show up at the school.

Link to the article too (in Danish) http://politiken.dk/indland/ECE1359207/skoleklar-prins-christian-min-madpakke-er-en-hemmelighed/, with a short video.

Basically, he is a 5 year old who is excited to start in school :P

He might be excited, but I bet it was a bittersweet day for Mary and Frederick. Their little boy is growing up fast. :)

A few other things...

Daily Mail ~ Fergie storms out of interview, claiming she was ambushed over 'cash-for-access' scandal (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2024964/Sarah-Ferguson-storms-Australian-TV-interview-claiming-ambushed.html?ito=feeds-newsxml)

 And the public and very sad ongoing downward spiral of Sarah continues... :(

USA Today ~ Anne Hathaway 'grateful' to Kate Middleton (http://content.usatoday.com/communities/entertainment/post/2011/08/anne-hathaway-grateful-to-kate-middleton/1)

Today she calls Kate's ladylike wardrobe inspiring. "I'm just very grateful to Kate Middleton for making looking appropriate really fun again," she says. "So right now my fashion choices are all about Kate Middleton."

A big Amen to that!!

BTW, rumours are flying after pictures from the last engagements performed by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, that Victoria's expecting. From the few I've seen...It does look like there's a baby bump there, but until the Official Confirmation is released by the Palace, that's all it is. Rumours.

Rumours. The latest picture of her I've seen, from the Norwegian bombing memorial service in late July, it does indeed look suspect. The dress she wore is not fitted at all, and in every picture, she has her arms arranged as to kind of cover her stomach. But then there are pictures of her just a few weeks earlier where she doesn't look pregnant at all. So I guess time will tell.

Magazine Admits to doctoring Kate Middleton's wedding picture (http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/beauty/magazine-admits-to-doctoring-kate-middleton-cover-2525574/)

A spokesperson at the magazine explained that the re-touching SNAFU all started after the Grazia staff were unable to locate a solo shot of Middleton in her wedding dress. Magazine editors had trouble finding an image of the Duchess where she wasn’t linked arm-in-arm with William. (You’ll notice her arm is reaching up in the photo on the left). So they decided to create something that wasn’t there. “This involved mirroring one of the duchess’s arms and an inadvertent result of the change was the slimming of her waist,” the Complaints Commission reported.
Grazia made an apologetic statement, saying, “we did not purposely make any alterations to the Duchess of Cambridge’s image to make her appear slimmer, and we are sorry if this process gave that impression.”

One rumour that I hope may be true!

As do I, as both Victoria and Daniel have stated they want a Family. They both had to wait and also fight so long for their Relationship and to get married, a baby would just complete everything perfectly. Know what I mean?

Great article over at The Mirror about Princess Diana's day of SAS Training and what Kate very well also have to go through in the upcoming months.

The Mirror ~ Day Princess Diana joined SAS for tough hostage training Prince William and Kate Middleton will face (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/08/13/day-princess-diana-joined-sas-for-tough-hostage-training-prince-william-and-kate-middleton-will-face-115875-23340318/#.TkW_w0Fg_S0.twitter)

CBC News Network will be showing a two hour special of the highlights of William and Kate's Wedding tonight at 10pm.

Just thought I'd put this in a new post so it would be seen by those who might want to tune in to watch it. :D

A few things...

Before Prince Christian's big first day of school, he was presented by two dignitaries from Greenland w/a pair of boots from the People of Greenland. I understood this is a tradition of sorts, but I'm also not sure about that either. Google translation does leave a lot to be desired after all. Anyway...

Hola ~ Christian, his Parents, Princess Isabella, the Greenland representatives and his brand new boots!! (http://www.hola.com/imagenes/realeza/casa_danesa/2011081154027/christian-dinamarca-principe/0-182-805/daneses1-a.jpg)

Over at the Order of Splendour blog, this past Tiara Thursday...Focused on the Royal Family of Sweden's Cut Steel Tiara. (http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2011/08/tiara-thursday-cut-steel-tiara.html)

I know it's not everyone's favourite Tiara out there, but I've always liked it for some reason. Don't know really why though. Just one of those things. :)

And...Sophie paid a visit to The 5 Rifles Regiment yesterday, of which she is Colonel in Chief, as they were taking part in training exercises in preparation for leaving for a Tour of Duty in Afghanistan.

British Forces News ~ Countess of Wessex visits 5 Rifles (http://bfbs.com/news/england/countess-wessex-visits-5-rifles-50659.html)

Daily Mail ~ Soldier Sophie puts on army uniform as she meets troops training for the frontline in Afghanistan (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2026353/Soldier-Sophie-tries-army-uniform-meets-troops-training-frontline-Afghanistan.html#ixzz1V8LAKTZC)

Sophie looks really good in Military Uniform and looked to be really enjoying herself too.

The whole outfit is actually the traditional Greenlandic men's costume, the black pants and white anorak too.
The royal family has a long tradition of honoring Greenlandic traditions as well.

Uh...yeah, that cover looks like the narrower waist was TOTALLY an accident. (Like she is not slender enough already!)

I second Ann Hathaway's comment--yay for Kate making tasteful and elegant 'in'!

Totally happy for Victoria & Daniel! :cheer2:
Here's a photo of Vic from today. (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/slideshow/ALeqM5hkoxSFrWYwzHt7fdvjKpgbny7KWw?docId=1b59da0d6 8ff491bab2637edc28a84f3&index=1&ned=us)
She looks absolutely happy and relieved.
The "long" waiting (at least under "royal" circumstances :shuffle: ) is over.
