There's a new book coming out about the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, which produced this interesting article over at The Daily Mail...

Daily Mail ~ The truth about Mrs Simpson: Why Wallis never wanted to marry her king (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2023590/The-truth-Mrs-Simpson-Why-Wallis-wanted-marry-king.html)

More than likely to try and ride the upcoming Madonna movie in hopes of interest, but still sounds like it brings up some new stuff I'm reading/hearing for the first time.

While I don't like the material, I think Caroline's looks really nice on her. I know she was a swimmer, but my goodness, Charlene has shoulders like a linebacker!

I saw a black dress for sale yesterday that looked strikingly like Pippa's wedding dress, with cowl neck and the same pattern at the waist, but no sleeves and a little shorter. Of course, I bought it... a girl can never have too many dresses that look like (almost) royalty, right? :shuffle:

I saw that!!! I love Pippa's original gown and would love to wear it for my own wedding (not that that's in the works anytime soon :shuffle: ) but I'm not a fan of the shortened black Kate dress. It was classic as it was and this version just seems cheapened.

Sorry, but I don't see all the fuss over Pippa. She looked great at her sister's wedding, yes. However, where Kate is beautiful, Pippa is pretty, but no prettier than many girls her age.

Duchess of Alba to marry again (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/09/duchess-of-alba-married_n_922604.html)

She really is a great advert against plastic surgery. :scream:

Just say no.

Re Toytown's retirement, he's 18. Not a spring chicken, and really he's been injury-prone for a while. You want proof Zara doesn't take advantage of her family, you'd think she could outright own a good two or three backup horses of close quality...maybe not all guaranteed to get on the short-list, but good horses.

Despite all this she bears an eerie resemblance to her famous ancestor painted by Goya: http://eeweems.com/goya/_imagery/alba_white_350.jpg

The frizzy hair must be carried by one persistent gene.

I think that her hair might be a product of perming.

Blog which shows a few pictures (http://jennyjuststuff.blogspot.com/2011/08/ready-for-yet-another-royal-wedding.html) of her younger, and a Spanish site with an album (http://www.telecinco.es/elprogramadeanarosa/photogallery/2279/photo2.shtml) of her in her childhood.

BTW, for a Spanish title-holder, I find it amusing that her surname is just about as British as one can get... Fitz-James Stuart. It comes from her descent from King James II of England.

Yes, she gives a whole different meaning to the phrase, "a stiff upper lip."

Some photos of Prince Christian of Denmark (son of the Crown Prince Frederik) on his first day of school with his parents:
http://politiken.dk/fotografier/ECE1359326/prins-christian-se-min-nye-skoletaske/

He is the first Danish royalty who will go to a public school, and they had a photo session before he went there so they could ask the journalists to not show up at the school.

Link to the article too (in Danish) http://politiken.dk/indland/ECE1359207/skoleklar-prins-christian-min-madpakke-er-en-hemmelighed/, with a short video.

Basically, he is a 5 year old who is excited to start in school :P
