Build them up, tear them down. Where have I seen that before?

Oh, let's see...everywhere?

Good grief...The girl can't win. People complain if she wears something she's wore before and yet, if Kate had wore something new, she would have been raked over the coals for upstaging Zara.

I actually liked Kate's hat and think that she, Sophie and Beatrice were the fashion winners today.

I liked Kate's hat too. And good for her for wearing things again--that's sensible. As to upstaging Zara, Kate can't help it. :saint:

More information about Metit-Marit's Stepbrother...

Royal News Blog ~ Princess’s stepbrother saved own son before dying (http://royalnewsblog.com/2011/07/princesss-stepbrother-saved-own-son-before-dying/)

Trond Berntsen was working as an off-duty police officer on Utøya when Anders Behring Breivik arrived at the shore. Unarmed and unaware of the horror that was about to be unleashed on the island, Berntsen succeeded in protecting his 10-year-old son but could do nothing to save himself.

:(

edited to add...This article at Hello also has a photo gallery of the Service that Haakon and Mette-Marit and the children attended. It's been awhile since I've seen pictures of Ingrid and Sverre. Boy, does time fly.

Hello Magazine ~ Touched by tragedy: Grief-stricken Mette-Marit leads Norway's mourning (http://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/201107255821/norwegian-royals-show-support-attack-victims/)

Also saw a picture of Frederik and Mary's Christian last week and has that boy ever had a growth spurt since the Christenings of the Twins. He's at least two inches taller now.

edited again to add...Found this was surfing over at YouTube...

Love how proud Beatrice was of her red boots. :D

I like Catherine's hat. Though I wouldn't want to have been sitting behind it. And her coat. Tasteful and not upstaging the bride. Camilla's seems in keeping with what she's worn before (and probably is more suitable to her age than some of the flying-saucer styles!)

I think the whole way the dress is cut is not flattering for Zara. Nor is the poofy veil. But I doubt she's overly concerned with that. ;) She's got an event to ride in soon anyway and she looks fine in breeches and boots.

It was back to work for Zara today...

Daily Mail ~ 'Wedding was amazing, shame about the honeymoon!' It's back to work for Zara now too as she launches range of children's clothes (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2021571/Zara-Phillips-Wedding-amazing-shame-honeymoon.html)

And...

Daily Mail ~ Who's a beautiful baby? Zara's niece gets an excited cuddle from mummy (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2020873/Zara-Phillips-wedding-Brother-Peters-baby-gets-cuddle-mum-Autumn.html)

Savannah is just too adorable!! I love the second picture though. She's giving that Policeman such a serious stare, but from the angle she's looking up at, I'm betting she was focused on the shield on his hat. If only Mum could have gotten her a little bit closer... :D

edited to add...When I mentioned I'd seen pictures of Prince Christian a couple of weeks ago, I didn't realize at the time I'd posted about it those were Paprazzi shots, but found out after the fact and is the reason why there was no link. *However*...The pictures of the entire Family that go along w/the article I'm about to share the link to, are perfectly fine and w/in play. :)

Hello ~ Frederik and Mary's adorable twins showered with love in happy family snaps (http://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/201108025867/danish-royals-princess-mary-of-denmark-twins/)

The Twins are so cute and does Vincent ever look like Christian did at that age. Love the ones w/the Proud Grandparents. :D

And in the latest chapter of the "Oh No...Fergie's done it *again*!!!" saga...

Daily Mail ~ My mother didn't beat me - it was just a joke says Fergie as she backtracks on abuse claims (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2020672/Sarah-Ferguson-My-mother-didnt-beat--just-joke.html)

Sigh...:(

That is one adorable family, from Granny and Gramps down to the little ankle-biters.

Mary and Marie are both so gorgeous. Prince Christian looks ALOT like his mom! :)

And Fred's salt-n-pepper is just too foxy for words. :swoon:

ETA: Just for poops-n-giggles, here's a link to Joachim and Marie's wedding (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjIyi0HXXr4&feature=related). The groom walking up the aisle with his sons from his first marriage, awwwwww! :respec:

One of my favourite Royal Weddings of the last ten years and all because Joachim had Nikolai and Felix as his Best Men. The highlight though, was watching them trying to stay awake during the Ceremony. Poor Felix...You'd see him sitting up straight and then, the head started drooping lower...and lower...and lower... Then big brother Nikolai would give him a shot in the ribs and Felix would shoot straight up again. :D

It really was a wonderful day. :)

The Red Cross Ball in Monaco was tonight and Albert, Charlene, Caroline and Stephanie all attended. Don't look too closely at Princess Caroline's dress or you might go cross eyed...

What on earth was she thinking!?!

I dunno.... I kinda like Caroline's dress :shuffle: Even though it's very loud and looks like it was made with scrap fabric, it's got a pleasing quality about it. I'd wear it anyway. The picture you linked to showed the dress with the shrug, and here's the dress without (http://www.daylife.com/photo/01Kedck1B60g9?q=princess+caroline). I like it with the shrug better as I like the collar.

Here's a closeup (http://www.gettyimages.fr/detail/120378838/Getty-Images-Entertainment) of Charlene. She's wearing the Ocean tiara/necklace that she got as a wedding gift from Albert. She's wearing it as a necklace. I like it, although not with the dress she chose. Wrong color. And although she hasn't worn it as a tiara yet, something tells me I'll like it better as a necklace.

That is one ugly dress. Whatever she paid, it was too much. Way too much.

Today's sure to be a bittersweet day for Zara...

Daily Mail ~ What a contrast! Newlyweds Zara and Mike back in old jeans as they join Autumn, Peter and baby Savannah at Gatcombe (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2022889/Zara-Phillips-Mike-Tindall-join-Autumn-Peter-baby-Savannah-Gatcombe.html)

The Queen's granddaughter will ride for the last time on her 'horse of a lifetime' Toytown, as the gelding, who has suffered a series of injuries, is to be retired after Zara's event.

Eighteen-year-old 'Noddy' will be paraded in the main arena at 1.45pm on Sunday, so that his fans can pay tribute to the legendary white-flecked chestnut horse

It's such a pity that Toytown injured himself just before both Athens *and* Beijing. Especially Beijing, as Zara and he would have been one of the favourites for the Eventing Championship. At least they did win the European and World Titles together, but I'm sure Zara will always wonder "What if?" when it comes to the Olympics, which is only understandable.

I hope that beautiful boy has a long and happy retirement. Toytown really is a gorgeous horse. :)

That dress was not appropriate for a formal event; as the Ball is.
Caroline also needs "softer" makeup. Her current look is too harsh.

You're welcome and it's fun for me to have others who share an interest in the Royals, so sharing the links I find is not a problem. :) To answer your question, AFAIK Zara is going to try and qualify for the Olympic Eventing Team and compete at home next year.

I saw a black dress for sale yesterday that looked strikingly like Pippa's wedding dress, with cowl neck and the same pattern at the waist, but no sleeves and a little shorter. Of course, I bought it... a girl can never have too many dresses that look like (almost) royalty, right? :shuffle:
