On CNN today,
The Monaco royal couple are suing because of the Runaway Bride stories.

No surprise really, as the Palace did issue a warning last week if the stories didn't stop, then they'd be sued.

Speaking of Weddings...Wonder how nervous Zara and Mike are getting now that Saturday's only a few days away? :)

Well, tomorrow's the day in Edinburgh and Zara and Mike's Wedding.

Wonder who will be her attendants and, more importantly, will she or won't she wear a Tiara. I think she will and I think it'll be the Fringe her Granny and Mother wore.

That's just me hoping though. :D

What's everyone else's thoughts?

edited to add...Can't believe I forgot this...

It was 30 years ago today that a Lady became a Princess in St. Paul's Cathedral. We were visiting friends in Barrie and their oldest daughter, who was 18 at the time, and I camped out in their basement and she woke me up in the wee small hours to watch the Wedding. I fell back to sleep during the Siging of the Registar, so missed the Balcony Scene, but the Wedding only made my interest in the Royals stronger.

Anyone else watch "The Wedding of the 20th Century"? :)

edited again to add...The Norwegian Court released the various letters of condolence sent to the Court/King Harald by other Monarchs. HM Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands' letter/message...

His Majesty the King of Norway,

Deeply shocked by the news of the appalling bomb attack in Oslo and the cruel shooting of so many innocent young people at Utoya island. I wish to convey to you my heartfelt sympathy. I condole with the families of those who lost their lives. The people of The Netherlands share the heavy grief of the people of Norway.

A poster at The Royal Forums shared that and I'm guessing translated it using Google, as I have no idea what "condole" is supposed to actually mean. Maybe "console"?

Yeah, I even set my alarm clock to get me up at 4:00 am to watch it. Watched the whole thing then went to work with very little sleep.

I won't say for sure what tiara Zara will wear, as I'm 50/50 on her actually wearing one. But I'll narrow it down to the fringe or the Greek key if she does wear one. Maybe an outside chance of the Strathmore Rose since they will be getting married in Scotland.

Here's a picture (http://members.boardhost.com/RoyalJewelsQuiz/msg/1293351908.html) of the tiaras the Princess Royal has worn.

Top left is the Hanover Fringe and the top right is the Greek Key, the two front-runners.
Middle row on the left is the Festoon. Autumn Kelly wore this one when she married Peter Phillips, so may be out, although it's my favorite of Anne's tiaras.

In the very center is the mystery tiara. There is speculation that it is the Double Meander shown to its right. But Anne has only been pictured in the Mystery once, and it is from very far away, hence the blurriness. The Double Meander once belonged to the Queen Mother, though no one knows to whom it now belongs... the Queen or to Anne.

At the bottom left is the Cartier Halo Scroll. Out of the running since Kate wore it and is on exhibit. (this picture was done before William and Kate's wedding).

In the bottom center is the "Unicorn" tiara. So called because the only time Anne has been seen wearing it, it was for a portrait that had a unicorn in the background. There is speculation that this tiara was a loan, since it hasn't been seen since.

At the bottom right is the Aquamarine Pinecone. Since it has colored stones, I think it's the least likely out of the eligible tiaras.

I'm hoping for the Fringe or the Meander. Strathmore Rose would be sweet too.

I have no idea what "condole" is supposed to actually mean.

There are such things as dictionaries. :shuffle:

verb /kənˈdōl/

Express sympathy for (someone); grieve with
- the priest came to condole with Madeleine

Web definitions

express one's sympathetic grief, on the occasion of someone's death; "You must condole the widow"

To grieve; To express sympathetic sorrow, to lament

Word is that Zara is wearing the Greek Key Tiara

Wedding pictures. Simple wedding dress but quite lovely. Love Kate's hat! Also must say, I also like what Beatrice is wearing (can't often say that!). Queen is in peach. And, what is that that Camilla is wearing on her head?

Zara (http://www.daylife.com/photo/085B9pTfWZ0go?q=Zara+Phillips)

She looked lovely, but something just looked a little off to me, and I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it was. I'm leaning towards the veil. Like perhaps the fullness doesn't go with the simplicity of her dress? I don't know.

Or it could be that she carried her flowers so high that one can't get a proper look at her in the dress.

07-30-2011, 05:29 PM
Not crazy about her look. I am not a fan of anything poofy or a dropped waist. The veil was not good.

Plus Zara somehow doesn't possess the panache/star power and above all, the elegance of Kate.

07-30-2011, 05:50 PM
Yeah, I have to agree that I don't like the veil either. Too...poofy. The tiara was fabulous, though.

And in looking at the pictures, Eugenie looks absolutely lovely. Why couldn't she have looked this put together for William and Kate's wedding? Beatrice needs desperately to run a comb through her hair.

Love Kate's hat although the dress is a little blah. I'm thinking Kate needs to start taking advice from Sophie, who really looks good. I'm not saying they have to become bosom buddies, but they did marry into The Family, so maybe Sophie can help Kate through the transitional period.
