There has been lot of rumors about whom, if someone, would attend the ceremony.

Hot damn, sweetsparky, that is some good dirt! :watch:

Please feel free to fill us in anytime with good dish about la Familia Real! :D

OT: I just started reading Paul Preston's Juan Carlos: Steering Spain from Dictatorship to Democracy. I picked it up especially 'cuz his bio of Franco was so good. :)

William & Catherine look adorable in their Swedish Chef outfits!

I keep being amazed by how much Kate talks w/her hands. I guess I'm just not used to seeing a Senior British Royal Lady do that, so it's refreshing...I don't know, but it does make me smile seeing it. :)

I hope those protesters are proud of the black eye they gave their Province this afternoon. It doesn't matter that it was a small group. They were still there, they could still be heard and w/the amount of media from all over the World covering this Visit, they *will* report on it.

Idiots!!

edited to add...Loving this Culinary School visit. I just wish Kate had put her hair up is all.

The cooking school episode was absolutely unprecedented, I'm sure! I agree that Kate should have put her hair up - any kitchen worth it's salt would have had her in a hat or a net :)

It appears that William must be ambidextrous - he signs with his left hand but was doing the kitchen activities with his right. He piped, he cut, he folded (the souffle) and he snuck a bit of chocolate at the last stage. [I think I heard him ask before they started if he could eat as they went along as he was actually quite hungry :) ]

The reception is a white tie event! Tiaras! (http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/verden/1.7699289) :) I've gathered 3 interesting things from the pictures. 1). Princess Caroline was wearing a pretty sapphire tiara that I believe is a necklace also. She doesn't wear tiaras all that often. 2). Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna of Russia was wearing a kokoshnik tiara of some kind. I thought it was interesting that she'd been invited at all, let alone wearing a tiara. 3.) Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are there, too.

Here's a link to a picture of one of the 2 tiaras (http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/1309630133.html) Albert gave Charlene as a wedding present. It can be worn as a tiara as well as a necklace. It's really pretty and unique. Hope she wears it soon!

The other one she appears to be wearing at the reception, as seen on the first picture of the first link I gave.

Anyone else catch that last time Kate took a plate down to the table and on her way back Will says to her, "Show off!!"?

:D

Also loved how he gave these really quick looks to the left and the right before he snitched the chocolate. Can't say I blame him really. :D

Charlene's dress is STUNNING! I much prefer it to Kate's.

ETA: Not liking the reception dress though. Bleh.

^ Actually, that's a trait fairly common amongst us southpaws. :D

I myself write with my left hand, but do basically everything else with my right: hold a knife & scissors, throw a ball, play tennis, etc.

When William began Eton (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkQkXoROiSI) and was signing the entry book, you saw that he had that slight lefty thing were your wrist hooks while you write (go to 1:12 in the video)

Signing the New Zealand earthquake condolence book (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WFI7B6WgRY), you can see that the hook is still sort of there, but not too pronounced (go to :49).

I haven't seen any of the reception pictures yet but ITA about Princess Charlene's wedding gown. Gorgeous, very elegant and IMO reminiscent of the era in which her late Mother in Law was at her peak. CNN showed brief clips of the wedding this morning.

I know many people have made comments on how the new Princess doesn't look happy and what her overall demeanor seems to be but alleged escape attempt aside, I get the feeling that Charlene in general doesn't have a bubbly happy go lucky personality. I've seen pictures of her from before the engagement and she's always come across the same. In fact Monaco's royal family in general (some more than others) don't seem to be the types to show extreme public displays of happiness. Especially Charlotte Casiraghi. She's gorgeous but I've never seen pictures of her (including the wedding pictures) looking animated and relaxed.

I didn't realize Princess Michael of Kent was sent along to Monaco since Prince Edward and his wife Sophie were there as well.

Maybe it's just the pictures that the press choose to publish.

Speaking of Edward and Sophie, any pictures of them at the White Tie Reception? Haven't seen any as of yet.

Thanks nerdycool for those links. That picture of the convertible necklace Tiara is *gorgeious*!!! BTW, if you click on that link it takes you to the Royal Jewels of the World Message Board and right now at the top of that page, is a fantastic picture border. First there's the Queen Mum, then the Queen, then my country's flag in the middle w/one very big change, then Camilla and then Catherine.

What do they all have in common? They're all wearing the Maple Leaf Brooch during visits to Canada and the person who did the web design of that border, put a picture of the Brooch over top of the Maple Leaf in the flag. It's just a gorgeous piece of web design IMO.

During the tree planting ceremony the Duke and Duchess brought joy and comfort to a cancer victim who was recently told he had only 12 weeks to live.

In scenes that brought back memories of the Duke's mother Diana, the royal newlyweds bent down to speak to wheelchair-bound Terry Joyce, 47, a former computer expert from Ottawa.

Terry struggled to his feet and leant against a walking frame as William, 29, arrived but the royal told him to sit down and relax.
When Kate arrived she shook him warmly by the hand and told him: 'Let's get you out of the sunlight Terry.'

After the couple left, Terry, who lives in the Bruyere Hospice, burst into tears and was comforted by his doctor.

He said: 'This has given me a tremendous lift. It goes to show that we have a wonderful monarchy and we really need people like this.

'I was told a week ago I would be meeting them and I have been looking forward to it ever since. It has been one of the best days of my life.'

But they don't have a picture of Edward at the reception, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there. Sophie looked to be escorted in by CP Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands. There seemed to be a lot of partner switching at the start. CP Haakon of Norway walked in with CP Victoria of Sweden, CP Mary of Denmark walked in with Prince Philippe of Belgium, CP Frederik of Denmark walked in with someone who looks like they represent Morocco, etc.

Sophie looks great in that colour blue.

Me too, Gazpacho WOW, CHARLENE is the Most-Beautiful-Royal-Bride-of-2011. Not just the dress but overall glamour - gown, veil (real tulle that fluffs up), figure, manner of walk, FACE, majesty. Bravissima!

In the DC area, it was shown live on Euronews cable channel, available with Comcast....found after a lot of fast searching in the 270s/80s numbers.

Now for the most important question: Did Monaco's 2011 Euros & Worlds skating hottie, Kim Lucine, attend? I believe that every Monagasque citizen (about 8,000) was invited and would have at least received an invite to view the ceremony seated in the large outer courtyard of the palace.

First dress of Kate's I haven't liked.

Charlene just gives out no "happy bride" vibes in any of the pictures. And I can't believe how haggard Princess Grace's daughters both look.
