Okay...As a huge Great Big Sea fan, seeing Alan and the Boys meeting Kate and William just now is very big to me. :D

CPAC is broadcasting the citizenship ceremony that William and Kate are attending

Kate is wearing a creamy-white dress with a small red hat with a maple leaf on it.

Clever, clever girl.:D

Darn it. Should have checked out CPAC this morning. Will have to remember to check it tonight to see if it's reshown.

CBC Newsworld carried it all live too, including the citizenship ceremony. There will be a repeat of their special coverage at 6 p.m. (Eastern) this evening they just said.

The Daily Mail has several pictures

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2010322/Canada-Royal-vist-Kate-Middleton-makes-real-effort-maple-leaf-hat-brooch-borrowed-Queen.htmlThanks for the link!

Thanks! She looks wonderful.
If there are video links that those outside of Canada can access, could you post them?Yes, she does look wonderful! Her red fascinator with maple leaves is quite cute and all, but wouldn't she have made more of a statement by wearing this guy's hat (http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/07/01/article-2010322-0CD20B8B00000578-496_470x486.jpg).

I love that guys hat - wish I had one of my own...

But, I also thought Kate's fascinator was totally fab!! I love the fact that she recycled the dress - very modern and I'm sure, unheard of for Royalty. It was so great to see that they were given such a warm and enthusiastic reception today.

Party on tonight everyone...

I've made my bed, so now I'll just have to lie in it (http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/034zcZC4d03NT/232x333.jpg?center=0.5,0).
I guess I'd better give the press at least a semblance of a smile (http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0arofgE0Yw8Pg/232x314.jpg?center=0.5,0).
Please, by all that is holy, let there be no more of Albert's baby mommas coming out of the woodwork (http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/05EO0etaTFcJd/232x303.jpg?center=0.5,0).
I hope this kiss looks better than it feels (http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/01GzdeWdw63Bv/232x318.jpg?center=0.5,0).

She's what, 45 and looks 75!

I guess all those years of smoking and sun worshiping have ruined her skin forever. :yikes:

Neither Caroline nor little sister Stephanie have aged well. IIRC both were massive partiers (Stephanie even moreso) in their younger years. Or at least I hope that's why they've aged the way they have. If not, Charlotte (who is truly stunning) is in trouble.

Well, since Charlene decided to go through with it, I'm just waiting to see "the" dress.

I don't think she looked happy at all.
If Albert "pressured" her to stay by taking away her passport at the airport, he's a louse.

I hope she actually did want to go through with it, not just because of pressure or to "save face."

I guess I still don't get royal protical....who all gets to use HRH?The people who are granted the HRH in the United Kingdom would be the husband of a Queen Regnant (not totally in the rules, but if a man was marrying into the family that high up & he didn't have his own title, he'd get one upon marriage, like Philip), the monarch's children, the female spouses of said children, and any grandchild of the monarch who was born in the male line & their female spouses. And finally, the most confusing for some, is that the first-born son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales would get an HRH with the title of Prince (because he would be in the direct line to the throne). Any other child would be styled as the children of a Duke (not Prince(ss)) and no HRH. And since the Queen appears to be hale & hearty at the age of 85, we might well see this scenario play out.

The HRH list:
Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh (the Queen's husband)
Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales (the Queen's son)
Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall (Prince Charles' wife)
Princess Anne, The Princess Royal (the Queen's daughter)
Prince Andrew, The Duke of York (the Queen's son)
Prince Edward, The Earl of Wessex (the Queen's son)
Sophie, The Countess of Wessex (Prince Edward's wife)
Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge (Queen's male line grandson)
Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William's wife)
Prince Henry of Wales (Queen's male line grandson)
Princess Beatrice of York (Queen's male line granddaughter)
Princess Eugenie of York (Queen's male line granddaughter)
*Lady Louise (Queen's male line granddaughter)
*James, Viscount Severn (Queen's male line grandson)
Prince Richard, The Duke of Gloucester (King George V's male line grandson)
Birgitte, The Duchess of Gloucester (Prince Richard's wife)
Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent (King George V's male line grandson)
Katharine, The Duchess of Kent (Prince Edward's wife)
Princess Alexandra of Kent (King George V's male line granddaughter)
Prince Michael of Kent (King George V's male line grandson)
Princess Michael of Kent (Prince Michael's wife)

*By law, they are entitled to the HRH designation, though they don't publicly use it

Heh - Great Big Sea just said "put your hands up, we're in the presence of royalty for God's sake!"

Will and Kate just arrived, she's in a kinda plain but classy purple dress now with her hair up. Unfortunately the cbc stream seems to be geoblocked this time. :( I had to use a VPN.

As do I. I liked her outfit and thought the colour looked lovely on Charlene.

Grrrr!!! While ITA w/my Mom that I need to set up my Dad's Dialysis machine every so often just to refresh myself on how to do it, tonight was NOT the night to do it!! Especially after I'd just bounded up the stairs saying "Kate's in purple and has her hair up at the Concert!!" on my way to the bathroom.

She did tell me afterwards I could go and watch it, but I know her too well. I'd have to put up w/her whining about how I put the Royals higher than my Father in my concerns from now till Eternity. She also said she didn't hear me. Wrong. She heard me alright, she just never paid attention, which happens quite often around here.

From what little I've seen, Kate looks wonderful in Purple and the Maple Leaf brooch is stunning on it.

edited to add...And these friends of my Parents, the male half of the couple being one of my least favourite people in the World, and who should know better than to pop in here after 9:30pm w/out calling ahead just did.

Sigh...And the day started off so well too. Now I have go and pretend to be happy to see these two.
