That's an interesting thought. Because Daisy is also a family nickname... Princess Margaret of Connaught's (CP Margareta of Sweden) nickname was also Daisy.

In botany the Leucanthemum vulgare is more commonly known as the ox-eye daisy (or wild daisy). This is the typical white flower with the yellow centre which is used for "he loves me, he loves me not" and in French it is referred to as a marguerite.

Some people refer to the "marguerite daisy" which is Argyranthemum frutescens - that is native to the Canary Islands and is cultivated for gardens in a variety of colours.

Just read the Canadian version of William and Kate's Canadian Itinerary (http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/williamandkate/story/2011/06/21/royal-tour.html)

More hectic than a bus tour of Europe - 7 countries in five days! And apparently they're going to be greeted by "Anne of Green Gables".

Just hope they manage to enjoy themselves a bit and have some good memories of the trip.

7 countries? Where does that come from?

I'm guessing KatieC is just drawing a parallel between this busy itinerary and the old-time tours of Europe that crammed as many countries as possible in.

Anyway, the tour is kinda boring :shuffle:. The cooking class and charity visits sound like fun, but how many demonstrations, presentations and speeches can these two sit through? No wonder they are going to California afterward.

Interested to see that schedule - anyone heard?

Ah, that makes sense. I misread it. :duh:

ETA - the California schedule.

Thanks for sharing - sounds like much more fun :)

Earlier there was an article that they would also go to Yosemite, which is some distance from LA, so I wonder how that fits in.

Seems Princess Eugenie stole the show at the final day of Ascot...

Mad Hattery ~ Royal Ascot 2011, Day Five: HRH Princess Eugenie of York (http://madhattery.royalroundup.com/2011/06/royal-ascot-2011-day-five-hrh-princess-eugenie-of-york/)

The hat doesn't work, but for once the actual outfit does.

Something about her hair just doesn't work for her, but I do think she is a pretty girl. More so than Beatrice. :)

Nice of them to visit Ste. Justine, though as a Montreal Children's Hospital allumn I wish it'd get some love too. But the former likely has a larger oncology department. Hopefully they'll get at least a few hours to walk around the city.

How is their French btw?

I saw on an ad that TLC has already aired "Royal Baby Watch" special. These poor people.

I wonder what the show contained...I'm certainly not watching it...

The World Transplant Games are taking place in Gothenberg, Sweden and its Royal Patron visited w/the Athletes, attended the Opening Ceremonies and also gave out the first Medals of the Games on the weekend.

World Transplant Games 2011 ~ Royal Mania when Prince Daniel visited World Transplant Games (http://blog.wtg2011.com/news/royal-mania-when-prince-daniel-visited-world-transplant-games)

Also a little belated, but...A Very Happy First Wedding Anniversary to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel!!

Hard to believe it was a year ago we were all gathered together in the thread for it for news and pictures from the Wedding in Sweden. Time indeed flies. :)

edited to add...Please while you're over there to take a good look around the site/blog. Organ Donation saves lives. Both Prince Daniel and myself are proof of that. Also discuss your wishes w/your loved ones. As hard as it is to believe, but even if you have your intentions indictated on your Driver's Licence or documentation that's equal to that, if your Next of Kin isn't aware, they can decide not to go ahead w/the donation.

If there was one thing that was drilled into me when talking about Donation Awareness by both my Transplant Hospital and the local Kidney Foundation of Canada office, it was that. As my Specialist told me, if there's no permission by the Next of Kin, then there's nothing they can do and if they did, they'd be in deep doo doo legally. So please talk about your wishes and intentions so they're known well in advance by your Family.

Okay and on that note...Back to dishing about the Royals. :)
