Wow, Dai's new SP is amazing!!! I love the preciseness of all of his movements. And his jumps look spot on even in the gala. Great :kickass:

I'm really excited about Kozuka's music choices! Should be interesting! :kickass:

Keiji Tanaka is awesome! IMO he should've won Junior Worlds
Golden Skate article (August 31, 2011): Tanaka aims for top junior podiums (http://www.goldenskate.com/2011/08/tanaka-aims-for-top-junior-podiums/)

Competing at Junior Worlds was an important experience for the teenager.

“I was able to watch top skaters which gave me additional motivation,” he noted. “In 2012, I want to come back and take the title.”

And he has a game plan for this goal: “I want to improve not only my jumps, but also other aspects of my skating.”

Tanaka has prepared a new free skate to The Untouchables by Ennio Morricone for the new season. The choreography was done by Kenji Miyamoto. He is keeping the Violentango short program from the past season.

Tanaka is currently scheduled to compete at the JGPs in Brisbane, Australia (Sep 7-11) and Innsbruck, Austria (Sep 28 – Oct 2).

For fans of Yuzuru Hanyu :D: http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=80048

Dai's SP. Loved it!!

Absolutely stunning.

Excellent choreography, his movement is so detailed and so precise.

He continues to surpass himself.

I really hope he can get a consistent 4toe because that's all that is missing now (but even without it, I would have him crush everyone - other than Chan - on PCS).

Dai should surpass Chan in PCS because he truly shows his personality and expresses the music much better than Chan does.

He should. But only by a small margin I think.

With the rest, there's no competition. :)

I see some ghosts of Buttle and Stephan here. This program is not much Dai-ish I am afraid. That's sad. Really sad.:(

Risa Shoji's new FS, I absolutely love it! Perfect style for her, and I personally think she was robbed of gold at this JGP, Courtney fell twice in her FS did not present that program nearly as well as Risa did, IMO. Still, nice season debut for Risa, her 3s-2t-2t and 2a-3t combos are huge and made me think of Shizuka. Hope she keeps up the good work! :)

Yes, it's a bit different from what he has skated before, but that doesn't mean that it's not "Dai-ish''. It's not for us to decide what is and what is not ''Dai-ish". He himself decides what he wants to skate and in which direction he wants to go. And if he is comfortable with the program, it's image, character and feeling, it means that it is "Dai-ish''. More precisely, it corresponds with his current "state of mind", his current view on skating and what he wants to express. People tend to change with time, and so skaters change their style as well. If Takahashi has decided to go in a new direction with his skating, it doesn't mean that it's not the "real'' him. Simply this is the new, current version of him. I understand that you want the "old'' Takahashi and what you loved about his skating back. But that is what you want him to be, not what he wants - at least currently.

I thought she skated much better than Courtney, too. I just hope she uses her arms better...she tends to hang her arms down. Her arm positions look especially lazy while her spins.

BTW I thought it was 3s-3t-2t, and that was very nice!

I don't understand the results very well either. I think Risa's 3loop maybe was underrotated, but that's the only flaw of that program. the flow and the basic technique are much better than Courtney's.
Courtney reminds me in her stroking a lot to Sarah Hughes. And that's not a compliment at all. There's sth very gangly about her positions that make her look awkward and not very smooth. Anyway, she has lots of personality and it's good she's being rewarded for that
About Shoji, I loove her kneebents in all the landings of her jumps, very Shizuka-esque yes! she has kind of the same technique in some jumps like the salchow and a very deep outside edge in the lutz too. she needs to project way more, but I like the way she's developing very much:)

Yes it was 3s-3t-2t, i made a typo before, but very impressive combination, and her 2a-3t has great flowout as well. She needs to project to the audience more but I still find her skating just :swoon:. I'm rooting for her to win the JGPF this season, if she can get all her jumps rotated, I think she has a good shot!

I just found this exhibition by Mao, skated to one of my favorite pieces of music- Chopin's ballad that was used in the movie The Pianist. It's absolutely beautiful, although the jumps are not perfect. Chopin really suits Mao.
