A German boy reported his mother to the police for making him do chores. This story:

Clair de Lune - not in my opinion. ;)

Buzz's question - an isolated incident.

Which of these two quotes do you prefer:

"We have become, by the power of a glorious evolutionary accident called intelligence, the steward of life's continutity on earth. We did not ask for this role, but we cannot abjure it." - Stephen Jay Gould

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." - Ecclesiastes 9.11

Ecclesiastes 9.11

IMO/IMHO:

- a good idea when dashing off assertions in an online forum
- fine if you want to use it to qualify statements, but it shouldn't be expected of everybody else
- ugh, acronyms :drama:

the more nervous-making appliance:

Old Lakewood electric heater (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCiRDS8flrc&t=34m6s)
or
vintage General Electric heater (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCiRDS8flrc&t=34m6s)?
