Speaking only for myself Kwanita, it's not genuine horror, but rather my Miss Rhinestone's unsophisticated palette, which stopped accepting new additions during the first Reagan administration. That dish just doesn't look very appetizing.
For others, cultural taboo may be part of it, along with the assumption (informed by...re-runs of Mr. Ed?) that horses are smarter than cows and pigs, which for all I know could be false.
