I can't say about the rest of it, but I definitely hope Evora/Ladwig will finally win their very deserving National title.

I agree with your senior medalists, however.... I think it'll be a bit different beyond top 3. Only they're Grand Prix results will help us see what the outcome might become.

Senior:

1. Denney/ Coughlin
2. Evora/ Ladwig
3. Marley/ Brubaker
4 Castelli/ Shnapir
5 Poapst/ Knierim
6 Cain/ Reagan
7 Vise/ Baldwin
8 Donlan/ Speroff
9 Zhang/ Bartholomay
10 Andrews/ Leduc
11 /12 Sciemeca/ Dimitrov; Bautista/ Harris

I think your junior is a bit crazy though.... Simpson/Blackmer are pretty much showing that they're the leaders. I think behind them are the other three Colorado teams plus Calalang/Sidhu. I think Goldberg/Dolkiewicz will have a very impressive showing at nationals because they've had time to train solely for that event and they showed great improvement at Midatlantics in September. I don't think Oltmanns/Santillan are capable of performing under pressure. They're put out lack luster performances at both their JGP's. Beyond that... it's anyone's guess

Junior:

1.)Simpson/ Blackmer
2.) Denney/ Frazer
3.) Duarte/ Grafton
4.) Calalang/ Sidhu
5.) Aaron/ Settlage
6.) Goldberg/Dolkiewicz
7.) Oltmanns/ Santillan
8.) Pfund/ Reiss (Not sure on their progress, assume it's good)

9. Mozer/ O'Shea
10. Pearce/ Norris
11. De la Mora/ Wilson
12. Fujimoto/ Barsi-Rhyne
13. Budd/ Sheldrick

Any Arguements?

Well I think its actually going to be a close competition and I would say that the 5 top teams listed are all capable of being on top. But I can understand your choices

Calalang and Sidhu have a shot for a bye to Nationals as well-- 3rd place will get them into the Final. It's a tough call, but I never count chickens in junior pairs.

I agree Jayar, Junior is so unpredictable. I have to say Calalang and Sidhu have really improved and have a well rounded program with difficulty. I also know that Pfund/Reiss will be very strong by Nationals and they are progressing very quickly and have big elements planned. Duarte/Grafton have the potential to win the event at Nationals. Again, its difficult to predict Junior. But it will be a good event to watch at Nationals!

I believe all 4 Junior pairs have elected to compete at Pacific Coast Sectionals.

Andrea Poapst/Chris Knierim on on the roster for Ice Challenge in Graz, Austria (November 1-6) -- it's their 1st Senior B assignment.

Also, I've heard unofficially that Mary Beth Marley/Rockne Brubaker and Ashley Cain/Joshua Reagan are the 2 US pairs assigned to Coupe de Nice in France (Oct. 26-30), which is the week after Skate America.

Doesn't look like Donlan and Speroff are going to get a senior B this year. Very sad, they finished a very respectable 4th at Nebelhorn last season and eighth at their first Senior Nationals. It would have been really nice if the Senior B competitions were used to develop some of the newer younger teams instead of making sure that the The SGP teams got a second or third assignment. No wonder Davis and Leftheris broke up. Where is the incentive for teams who don't have the international points to get on a SGP to stay together?

But we don't really know why Davis/Leftheris broke up (I believe they were assigned to a Senior B before their split became official).

I really admire Donlan/Speroff's wonderful pair qualities, and I hope they are not discouraged by their season's results so far and will continue to work hard towards Sectionals/Nationals.

I hope that Andrew and Gretchen are not getting discouraged by the lack of assignments. I'm starting to wonder if USFSA would rather see Andrew skating with someone else.

Who else out there would be a better match for Speroff? Can't think of anyone. Donlan and Speroff seem to be the perfect match for each other. I think that they would be received quite well internationally, based on their appearance at Nebelhorn last year, where they finished fourth with only one throw triple. I am sure that this season has been discouraging for them, wish there was a way that their fans could reach out to them and let them know how much their skating is appreciated and encourage them not to give up.
