I wonder if Canada is not planning on using their second spot for their guys? If so that would be sad for the Candians but great news for some US guys.

Closing date is Monday 01-Aug-11 so I'd say Wednesday or Thursday we might get the ISU lists.

Canada has 3 spots in pairs, hopefully they are going to use all the spots and name the teams later.

Unfortunately, I do not think Canada has enough Jr age eligible teams that meet the criteria for Jr international assignments to fill these spots this year :( ...I'd be surprised if there are more than 6 or 7 teams at Nationals

Canada has the maximum 12 pair slots (3 in 4 events) if they want to use them. With Katie Bobak/Ian Beharry's impressive showing at Indy Challenge this past weekend -- 3rd in SP (49.14) and 1st in FS (93.76) -- I'm sure Skate Canada intends to send this new team out.

Dalilah Sappenfield mentioned in an Indy Challenge article that 2011 US Novice pair champs Madeline Aaron/Max Settlage are scheduled to compete in Poland (JGP #3), and I expect that her 3 other age-eligible teams -- Kylie Duarte/Colin Grafton, Britney Simpson/Matthew Blackmer, and Haven Denney/Brandon Frazier -- will get a JGP apiece, if they haven't already been assigned one.

I'm shocked she is on the JGP again.

She doesn't have much choice with the reducement of spots and 4 russian ladies ranked above her..
