My Friend Derek Has Died

He passed away yesterday.
I know many people here were following his journey on his blog. His last post was put up today. The site has crashed from high traffic, but you can read his beautiful conclusion here, along with a link to the audio of the last interview he did, back in November:

I feel so privileged to have had the gift of his friendship, and while my heart is breaking right now for his wife, his daughters, and his parents, I take some comfort in knowing that he is on the next part of his cosmic voyage.
