Mariah Carey Names Her Twins

Well, Mariah has unveiled her name for her new twins:

- Monroe for the girl, inspired by Marilyn Monroe

and (drumroll) for the boy: Moroccan Scott!

I'm sure by 1st grade,Morrocan will be M. Scott Cannon and live a happy life! And for some reason, Monroe doesn't bother me. I also like Harper as a girl's name.

I think I am weirded out by Monroe since it is for Marilyn Monroe. I can't imagine naming my kid after her. But I suppose it is better than a geographic adjective. I wonder if Minnesotan was ever in the mix.

I think Monroe would be much better for a boy, but it's fine as a name. Although- since I don't really associate Marilyn with her last name, so much as with the double name, when I heard Monroe my first thought was the former president...

Moroccan comes from the top-tier of Carey's New York City apartment, which features Moroccan-inspired décor and was also the site of Cannon's marriage proposal.


I'm sure there are a lot of beautiful Moroccan boy names out there instead of just calling the kid "Moroccan" :lol:

The kid's nickname will be something like Moroc, Roco, etc.
