that costume was so memorable when he was taking his bow. i never pictured him in blue lace, something so lingerie-worthy. but it was delightful :)

Sarah and Drew report in their new IN blog today (June 3) (http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110603&content_id=19970988&vkey=ice_news) that Jeff Buttle is choreographing for Italy's Paul Parkinson (a YouTube link was posted earlier in this thread of them doing side-by-side footwork together) as well as SPs for these 2:

Mroz's new short program will be to "Mack the Knife," and [Max] Aaron will be skating to a medley of "Assassin's Tango" and "Oblivion."

Mroz's program is very playful and has a light-footed, quick, step sequence, perfectly in time to the music, including an amazing one-foot section.

ETA: The same blog also has an interview with Canada's Liam Firus durung his recent visit to Colorado Springs:

Firus has been working with choreographer Mark Pillay for five years, since he was an intermediate. He said that next season he'll be keeping his long program, to the Lawrence of Arabia soundtrack. He has a new short program, to a cover of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Rolling Stones.

Didn't *everyone* also have a Tango SP last year? And the year before? And the year before... :shuffle:

ETA: Is anyone else getting an ad for a Senior Citizen online dating at the top of the page? Somehow I don't get the relevancy of this one

Why didn't he just buy Weir's last Wilson program and save himself some Euros? It's not like Zmievskaya ever let him skate it.
you mean I love you i hate you sp?

Just wondering what music our skaters have chosen this year? My friend saw Sally Hoolin and James Hunt in Sheffield with Phil Askew and I believe their music (free) is Moulin rouge? Any news on others?

I'm compiling a list of known program music for the US international skaters who've competed in club competitions so far and hope to post it here this weekend.

Here's one -- Caroline Zhang's SP music is "The Rushing Wings of Dawn" by Tim Janis, choreographed by David Wilson (Alissa Czisny skated her SP to this music way back in 2001-02 and 2002-03) -- link to the song so you can hear what the piece it sounds like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iSyQcnbDaY
(I believe Zhang may be keeping her Dvorak cello concerto FS from last season.)

Surprised at Abbott's short music choice- both of those are well used, and usually he is more adventurous. On the other hand, having real swing choreographers may help overcome the I've-heard-and-seen-it-skated-to-a-million-times-already factor.

This is so cool. I can't wait to see it. I wish they could include the lyrics, they're so beautiful.
