I always get a little anxious when I see skaters using too many different pieces of music in one program, it reminds me of the old days (especially in ice dance) when skaters would use 4 pieces of music and it was kinda disjointed. I hope P/B's music flows okay, since they are using 4 songs for the FD. If they are similar and they keep with a theme throughout (which I think they are), it should work okay.
Didn't they use several different pieces in the Chaplin FD last season? They also used three different pieces in their 2007-8 FD. I imagine so long as the music edits are done well, it could work. I'm looking forward to it!

Adelina Sotnikova
SP Bolero
LP Liebestraum

Liebestraum may suite her very well; Bolero will be the bigger challenge to interpret; we will see, if she´s grown enough.
But i can´t wait to see her.

Can't wait for the battle of Liebestraum from the two elegant skaters.

I hope they're both in the final, skating back to back. :D

You mean like when Shpilband and Zoueva try to fit an entire soundtrack into one free dance? :shuffle:

Well, it sounds like the old days when you got two movies and a short subject for 35 cents. Come to think of it, the music of all of the free dances associated with Shpilband and Zoueva's top three teams antedate the 60's.

Now the shortened version of the movies will cost you considerably more :P

There is an report about the Japanese National Camp on Japanese Figure Skating Magazine "World Figure Skating No.49".
I got some information for new programs.

<Senior>

Takahiko Kozuka
SP: Inner Urge by Joe Henderson / Choreo by David Wilson
FS: Fantasia for Nausicaa by Joe Hisaishi / Choreo by Marina Zueva

SP music was chosen by David.
Takahiko chose this FS music and also did the music edit by himself.
(quite interesting choice...:D)

Nobunari Oda
SP: Jazz and Blues (Nobu said he does not remember the music title....)
FS: Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (Jazz arranged)

Both are choreographed by Sebastien Britten.
He plans to try one 4T in SP, and two 4T in FS.

Akiko Suzuki
SP: Hungarian Rhapsody arranged by Edvin Marton / Choreo by Angelica Krylova
FS: Die Fiedermaus Overture / Choreo by Pasquale Camerlengo

Kanako Murakami
SP: Granada / Choreo by Tatiana Tarasova
FS: Violin Concerto in E Minor by Mendelssohn / Choreo by Marina Zueva

Kanako said this SP is still difficult to skate for her, so may consider to change.
She plans to do 3F-3T in SP, but no 3-3 in FS.

Yuzuru Hanyu
SP: Etude, Op. 8 No12 in D Sharp minor by Scriabin
FS: "Kissing You" from "Romeo + Juliet" (Leonardo DiCaprio's) and "Escape" from "Plunkett&Macleane" by Craig Armstrong

Both are choreographed by his coach Nanami Abe.
I have not seen the full version of his FS, only Ex version.
There is another music before the "Kissing You".
He plans to try 4T-3T in SP, and 4T or 4S in FS.
(I hope he tries new choreographer.....:()

Tatsuki Machida
SP: Les Demoiselles de Rochefort / Choreo by Kenji Miyamoto
FS: Don Quixote / Choreo by Stephane Lambiel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:saint:

At an Ice Show last year, Lambiel said that he wants to help Tatsuki.
So Tatsuki decided to request the choreography to Lambiel.
He plans to try one 4T in FS.
(Sounds great! We can see his FS at Nebelhorn Trophy! I cannot to wait!!!)

Takahito Mura
SP: Red Violin (Concierto de Aranjuez) by Ikuko Kawai
FS: Slow Dancing in the Big City (keep from last year)

He plans to do one quad in SP, and two quads in FS.
He said he also practices 4Lz!
Currently he does not schedule to participate in any GPS. (so sad....)

Daisuke Murakami

He plans to try 4T and 4S in FS, and also practice 4F.

Haruka Imai
SP: Song Without Words Op 109 by Mendelssohn

Now she broke her leg...(I hope her soon recovery.)

Shoko Ishikawa
SP: La Rosa (Tango) / Choreo by Kenji Miyamoto
FS: Miss Saigon / Choreo by Shizuka Arakawa:shizuka1:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is Shizuka's first choreography!

Not for sure.
If Passion is the name of Peter Gabriel's album, it does contain The Feeling Begins.
But on that album, there is also a track named Passion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5_FtHnpmNw).
So who knows ?
I hope it's the second option though.

The second track is even more cryptic. The thing I found is "In the Garden of Souls" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fxrLIZpuvo) by Vas (released by Narada World)

"Le retour de Punt" by Bernard Becker (http://www.musicme.com/Bernard-Becker/titres/Le-Retour-De-Punt-t1953579.html)

"Alf Layla Wa Layla" (1001 Nights) has a number of versions, including by Oum Kalthoum. Back to basics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjEnon1C--s)' or something similar seems more probable though.

Pretty cool choices.

Will Fabian be destined for the golden outfit this time ? :D

Very interested in their FD now. If it's more Anissina& Peizerat than Denkova&Staviski it could be a real winner.

I also think regardless of 4 different music cuts all pieces have enough in common to give a seamless edit.

Thank you nana! I love Takahiko's choices and I'm excited to see what Shizuka can do a as a choreographer.

Cool that Suzuki is going more classical. I look forward to it.

Awesome that Lambiel and Arakawa are doing choreo! :kickass:

Daisuke Murakami
SP: The Feeling Begins
FS: Gladiator / Choreo by Lori Nichol

Hah, I thought this said Daisuke Takahashi at first. I would have loved to have seen him interpret those. I guess Murakami is a Yagudin fan.

FINALLY someone chose Song without words by Mendelssohn. I have a soft spot for it as I have played it myself (I'm a cellist). :) This may well make me a fan of Haruka Imai :)

Taka's music choices :cheer::inavoid:

btw, I also love the idea of a skater using the music from 'Les Demoiselles de Rochefort.' I was wondering several times why it's so unpopular among skaters, it definitely has a potential for some voids :). good for Machida!
