Surprised at Abbott's short music choice- both of those are well used, and usually he is more adventurous. On the other hand, having real swing choreographers may help overcome the I've-heard-and-seen-it-skated-to-a-million-times-already factor.

I was surprised too when I saw the SP choice only because it's exactly the same two pieces of music Todd Eldredge used for his swing short from the 1995 season. (I only remember because I spent about an hour last week trying to work out what sections of the song he used to cut together competition music for one of my dancers). It's an upbeat piece though and if he has good choreography I'm sure it'll be interesting.

Love the choice for the free though. Had never heard it til the Kerrs used it last season and it's perfect for skating. I think it'll really suit him.

Abbott's FS will be a masterwork. Excellent match of man and music ... gonna move people.

But, yes, it would be nice if lyrics could be used in singles skating.

Weaver/Poje will skate to Historia de un Amor (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIWxS6_98t8) for their SD. It may be another boring Spanish theme song, but I think it's a great choice. It suits their style very well and I really hope they can capture the similar mood as their SD from the last season (I believe they still need more respect from the judges, so this rather safe choice of music makes sense to me). They also list "Batacuba" as a part of the SD music, but I guess they mean "Bata Cuba", which means "Cuban beat" in Spanish.

On another note, I def agree not many, but too few skaters use Radiohead. As a huge fan of rock music I know there are tons of amazing songs just being untouched and waiting for a brave, talented skater!! LOL.. Yet I also agree a lot of them are very difficult to skate to..

They list the second piece as "Batacuda" which wiki defines as "a substyle of samba and refers to an African influenced Brazilian percussive style..."

Thanks for the clarification, Sylvia :)

Laura Lepisto says she will use Miss Saigon in this video, but I don't know what program. Perhaps our Finnish posters will help? :)

Could this be the 'Batacuda' they're referring to?

I sure hope so :D

The music might be a tad generic, but honestly, I love it, and I can SO picture them skating to this. I think this program can be another knockout for them:D

It will be very interesting to see Jeremy do his own choreography for a competitive program. And the SP sounds like it will be quite authentic. I just hope he will have sorted out his boot problems by next season cuz I can't wait to see them!!

Thatīs Latin American music. I canīt say from which country but definetly not from Spain, as there will probably not be any Spanish songs in the whole season since typical music from this country has nothing to do with Merengue, Cha cha or rhumba.
Assuring that Irish and American music is pretty much the same comes to have the same sense as what you said.

Historia de un amor was written by a Panamanian, I donīt remember his name now.
