Kozuka, Asada, Murakami, Oda, Takahashi and more Japanese skaters made benefits on May 7th in Nagoya, Japan. Proceeds from ticket sales, merchandise and fund-raising will go to victims.

Asada made “The Ice” shows in Nagoya every summer. This summer it will happen in Nagoya and Osaka as benefits. She will not get any performance fees. Proceeds from ticket sales and merchandise will go to victims
And Kozuka and Asada have a plan to make an ice show in disaster areas and invite victims free.

I did not manage to go watch the show but read tons of positive reports by those who did!

Kozuka, who proposed and carried out this fund-raising event, even handcrafted 8 donation boxes by himself. (pic: http://weblog.ctv.co.jp/ehonda/tFsHDUE) Also he must have been done some of the organizing work BEFORE the world championships!

Akiko posted some shots of their after-party to her blog, and says they all danced to Mambo as Dai's SP choreography, from start to finish! http://ameblo.jp/suzuki-akko/entry-10885001191.html Check out the last picture of the blog entry LOL

As we are uploading more and more video messages, we save the links under "my videos". We only can display six videos at a time on the homepage.
Yuko Kavaguti/Alexander Smirnov's video is online now as well.

Message from the Russian Skating Federation to Japan

Poem dedicating to Japan

The earth gave a groan of pain.
All of world was shocked by nature force.
Water flushed anything to the deep sea.

But the sun rises in the east, no matter what happens.
Earthquake or tsunami cannot win against light.

We wish our God keep lives of anyone on the earth.

We wish
there will be a lot of parks Sakura bloom,
there will be a lot of parks white birches bloom,
birds will sing spring songs
and flags will be raised up for congratulation on victories.

Children desire adults will shake hands with friends,
and will not forget we are in a family on the earth.

Here is another update for our donation website!
Michal Brezina has joined the action: http://www.nyjalccfundraising.com/e/skatingfriends
Watch his video message (in Czech).

Also Tatjana Volosozhar/Maxim Trankov are with "Skating Friends Support Japan" and have uploaded their video message on Facebook.

We are at 25 percent of our donation target. We hope to reach the target and maybe raise even more. Please help Japan. Each donation is appreciated. Thank you.

I am such a dumb**
I clicked through the site and wanted to donate to your cause and I accidentally donated to the whole site.
It is no big deal as it will still arrive at the same centre but I wanted to say thank you for doing this with the donation as well.
Crap.

Thank you for donating. Too bad it is not listed on the Skating Friends site, but as you say, it all goes to the Japanese-American Lions Club anyway. I just don't know how you did it. I clicked on our site and going from there I didn't even find another donation site.

It took me quite a while even.
I tried to sign up and then I signed in to make a donation side myself (which I never wanted - I only wanted to donate...) and then I clicked from there on and finally found a way to donate only to later find out that it was not to the Skating Friends but the Lions club in general.
I guess it took an enormous amount of stupidity to even accomplish that. :o

Ok, so everyone who wants to donate, please keep in mind that you don't have to sign in or anything (unless you want to open your own fundraising site, which you are welcome to do). You just need to click on the red "donate now" button on the "Skating Friends Support Japan" site (http://www.nyjalccfundraising.com/e/skatingfriends) which is a subsite of the Japanese-American Lions Club fundraising website.

Thank you!
