Are there any internet streaming where can we see the competition?
I'll die to watch Midori's skating.

I will try to videotape her but my camera isn't very good so I hope others do too.

Midori Ito had a press conference about her participation for this adult competition on June 2.

According to this article, Midori plans to include triple jumps in her performance.
She can still do 2 types of triples (the article does not say which ones).

"My skills and techniques are not as high (as they use to be), but I'd like to show the joy of skating by enjoying staking myself. I will do my best."

"Of course I cannot jump 3A, but I'd like to compete with quality - with good jumps and quality skate."

She will skate to Whisper of the River, a piano piece played by a blind pianist, Nobuyuki Tsujii.

Lovely music. I hope Midori lands two triples (one of them should be the toe loop; the other may be the salchow) and the double axel. I adore Midori. Looking forward to a tape of this competition.

She skates Saturday afternoon.
At least I hope that is true as I can only watch on Saturday. ;)

Yes, Midori will skate on Saturday. I interviewed her today and we did a video for Skating Fans Support Japan. She is an adorable person. So much fun and so nice, no star attitude at all.

Yes, Midori was great and it was so exciting to see her. Jan Calnan who beat her, did just much more jumps, but I think Midori didn't care about the result. She and Jan hugged each other before they skated and also afterwards in the Kiss and Cry. I hope Midori will be back next year!

Holy cr*p, I have to say that I am really surprised at the results. I know Jan and she is a great skater, but I honestly didn't think the judges would put her ahead of a world champion/Olympic medalist. :cheer2: for both competitors!!

I'm not sure why it would matter who the competitors are; judging by the protocols doing 11 elements verses 6 is probably why she came out ahead. I would love to see videos. I'm glad the judges didn't just give 1st place to Midotri just because of who she was and Jan was able to win if she was the best.

:encore::encore::encore: to everyone who competed.
