Yeah, I know I complain all the time. Also, it doesn't seem like what he is saying is much different than what most people (Americans and non-Americans) complain about American food in general.

I liked the food last time the Worlds was in Moscow. Arena food can vary from excellent (occassionally) to virtually inedible (quite often). The worst of it is how some arena staff confiscate food, so you have to eat the rubbish they sell at ridiculous prices.

Jason Dungjen will go to Moscow with Czisny and skip his seminar in Berlin:

Detroit Skating Club coach Jason Dungjen has canceled his previously scheduled trip to Berlin to be with U.S. ladies champion Alissa Czisny in late April for the World Figure Skating Championships in Moscow. A conflict for Dungjen developed after worlds was moved following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, because the new dates interfered with an International Skating Union seminar in Germany that Dungjen was leading.

who's wedding?!

Oda and his wife.

Well, actually, they mean...

Wills and Kate

But Nobunari Oda did say he has to postpone his wedding party in order to be at Worlds. And for skate fans, which is more important? ;)

Looks like Shawn could have given earlier notice so his replacement would have had time for serious preparation. Shawn should have gone. Seems unsportsmanlike to me.

Will's and Kate's wedding should be exciting with all the protesters that will be there to disrupt things. Spending 33 million on security in a country where many social services are being curtailed does not sit well with many and that doesn't even count the 25 million for the wedding itself. This is not the time for such excessiveness. Royals or not , it is in poor taste. I really wonder if it is appropriate at any time.
Personally, I have had my fill of them already. And will be glad when their wedding is over. Of course, then we have the Diana type coverage all over again. The curse of the Diana engagement ring is about to begin.

He couldn't have given that much earlier notice because he wouldn't have known the worlds were being moved for very long. Maybe he could have given a few DAYS earlier notice, but he probably needed a few days to make up his mind. Plus, Kevin Reynolds knew he was the alternate already and should have been training.

It seems like the girl is always having health/injury problems. I feel bad for her.

Too bad. Either food poisoning or pancreatic inflamation. Nora Hoffman was rushed to Moscow's Botkin Hospital after feeling sharp pain in her lower torso. If hope that she can fully recover in time for Worlds....she should if it's "just" food poisoning.

Does anyone know, why VALENTINA MARCHEI is just listed as substitute for worlds.
Kostner has the direct entry, and Roberta Rodeghiero has to do the qualification round. Why that?
She was just 6th an Nationals.
