And the selfish part of me is more than glad that it isn't in Finland. I mean, the one time in my life that I'm NOT there... they'd suddenly have a random Worlds? :drama: That would be too much to handle. :P

The Russian broadcaster for Worlds will be Rossia-2, the popular channel among us for that they broadcast everything online. The championship will be covered in maximum possible way as they state.

Wouldn't it be great if Russia would put on a Gala exhibition at Worlds with not only the champions, but any other skaters that would like to participate and donate half the proceeds to Japan. Maybe some of the coaches that still do skating could do a small program or any other skaters that usually attend worlds, might want to participate.

I am  at someone suggesting that tours are cheaper and most people travel to Worlds in tour groups.
I never join tour groups because I can always find a better, much more cheaper and more agreeable way myself. ;)
yeap, I think so too, I always find tours expensive, I ve never joined one. So far it works.

Marina Zueva:

"We are very happy that the wait is over. Moscow is excellent choice as it is safe and they can organize it well. Megasport is great vanue as it is colorfully designed, hotel is nearby it is very convinient. We confident that there will be many spectators as we witnessed at Grand Prix events held there. They like the teams we train, at least 3 out 5 of my teams are very popular in Russia.
4 weeks is enough time to regroup for championship. I also do not see any confilict with the new dates for Worlds and athletes' exhibition/show commitments. Since these athlets are amateur skaters and not professionals, they priority should be competition. Hence that's what they should be focusing on anyways."

Hooray! This is great news!

Is this officially the latest Worlds has ever been held? I know that recently, they are usually at the end of March or beginning of April. When were they held in the early days?

Yay, there will be Worlds after all, and in the spring where they belong! I'm happy to see it awarded to an enthusiastic and apparently organized bidder and I would love to see the Russian Federation use the idea of bringing in elements of Japan's plans such as their opening ceremonies. Selfishly, I also like the time zone for watching live from here, although I already got this week off to watch and don't know how easy it will be to get another week so soon.

Here's the Megasport venue inside and out (http://www.360cities.net/image/ice-palace-megasport#248.25,-5.33,70.0) with a 360 view of the interior complete with Plushenko and Yagudin banners, and also views of nearby locations.

Glad that Moscow got the championships

For US matters, the time difference and potential schedule could give a big opportunity to Universal Sports to broadcast LIVE coverage of the free skates like they did with Torino worlds last year

Hope you're right!
