:cheer: To all the feds who stepped up and an extra :cheer: to Russia for their eagerness, have complete faith they can whip this thing together in the coming weeks :respec:

Good luck to all the fans who hope to make it there in person.

FSU members could have made the decision last week as most of us knew it would be Russia.

I'm sure the skaters are very relieved to have a set date now and focus on their training.

Kudos to the skating nations that stepped up to offer their venues. I'm sure Russia will fill their seats even if they have to give out free tickets.

Marie Lundmark: "According to newspapers, federations of small countries were for Turku. The decision was a majority vote."

Susanna Rahkamo: "We are flattered at the spontaneous and positive reactions caused by Finland's bidding process. We give our full mental support to the Moscow Worlds organizers."

Upper right of this page (http://www.isu.org/vsite/vnavsite/page/directory/0,10853,4844-128610-129918-nav-list,00.html).

It clearly reads "ISU World Figure Skating Championships Moscow, Russia April 24 - 1 May"

This is the ISU official announcement

"The ISU has reviewed all applications received and after careful evaluation the ISU Council decided to allot the Championships to the Figure Skating Federation of Russia, to be held in the Megasport Arena in Moscow/Russia, on April 24-May 1, 2011."

Yippee! I think they'll do a great job.

makes me wonder if they'll hire someone to create a new logo for them? or will JSF allow them to use the 2011 logo and just put Moscow?

I wouldn't be surprised to see a competition netsite with a new logo already today or tomorrow.

Lol, a week later and I'd go. As it is, I'm likely to miss the broadcast, even

Hope they follow up on the excellent idea of Turku to bring in the opening ceremonies from Tokyo - we have a super Worlds ahead but we shall meet again in Tokyo.

It s not a secret that plusenko caused the quake, that caused the tsunami, that caused the nuclear disruption, that caused the worlds cancellation, that caused Russian F to bid for worlds so as to reinstate him.
he also caused the Libya situation to deviate the focus of world community somewere else while all the above are happening.
Knew it! I knew it! Goodness, is there anything he CAN'T do?

If all they want is reinstatement for Plushenko, by all means give it to them. It's not like his knees are going to get any better between now and 2014.
Putin (pronounced Poootin :D) only did this to drum up support for Plushenko's reinstatement, and like Charlie Sheen he's WINNING! If SOME people didn't have their heads so far up Plushenko's arrogant ***, they'd see it! LOL :rollin:

It's not a big deal, it's just skating right? It's not like any of us here spend hour upon hour every day browsing a figure skating forum or anything sad like that.

just glad worlds will take place and that the federation most willing to host on such short notice was awarded the bid. can't believe this is only their 4th worlds i think.
I think it's 3rd.
