Didier's offer to give Japan 2012 Worlds... more than just altruistic. My commentary @ http://www.blazingblades.com/744144286/skating-world---pay-attention/
Didier as ISU President or Speedy as President for a 6th consecutive term. :yikes: :scream:

Who cares about likable, I just want someone competent.

By "likable," I meant someone who isn't Speedy or Didier. Someone more transparent and more interested in the athletes than his wallet.

There's no way he would get in would he? I don't think they come much dirtier then him.

David Dore wants the job. I can't imagine that, having been suspended for cheating, that Didier could get elected. People already think that the results are all fixed. If the architect of the SLC Pairs Scandal was elected as the head of the ISU, the sport would be finished.

If a former Italian official in the ISU could be blackballed from that organization based upon lies and dirty politics, anything of a cheating and corrupt nature is possible within that body. To think otherwise, borders on cluelessness.

-Hoping that Japan gets to host the 2014 but should France want to give up their, that France can then have 2014 (yeah, I'm really biased on Canada not giving up 2013 only because I'm starting now to save up to go since I only live an hour away from London, Ontario)

If Canada got moved to 2014, you'd have more time to save up. :saint:

mm this is interesting- first off- will japan be ready to host a huge event in only 11 months?

Yes.

Japan is far worse then 3 mile island

It's Fukushima, not Japan. The vast majority of Japan is not/has not been affected by the earthquake, tsunami or nuclear accident. I'm in Japan right now.

This tangent deserves a poll.

Who would make a great president elect for the ISU?

I think a skater, maybe Czisny, Jenny Kirk, or someone with that degree of verbal awareness and writing skills, would be perfect.

And someone with integrity. Is that possible?

Is that your vote or THE vote?

I told my mom about this a few hours ago and she said, "where's Peggy Fleming? Wouldn't she be good?"

Could she potentially have time/interest?

Very nice commentary and 99,9% true but i prefer the possibility that the other utopic 0,1% was pure example of solidarity and real sportsmenship.
