No one should go to college just because other people want them to -- been there, done that, bought the expensive t-shirt.

Hear, hear. I loved college myself, but it's not for everybody, and I don't understand the ever-popular OMG YOU MUST GO TO COLLEGE OR YOUR WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN FOR NOTHING!!! attitude at all.

^I agree too. There's this kind of stigma attached to not going to college (n some circles) It's frankly ridiculous, as though "education" is the right answer for everyone. It isn't. We're all built differently; some of us just aren't right for it, and that has nothing to do with intelligence or the desire to learn. Frankly, I've educated myself a heck of alot more since graduating from university than the three years I was there.

She looks gorgeous in braids:

(there must be a better pic/a video somewhere, I'll look for it if any body asks).

French braids are gorgeous on her. (I'm envious because I can't wear them at all, and I always wanted to. :wuzrobbed ) I think she wore one for the Rachmaninoff program a couple of times, and it was a beautiful look.

Sasha is very pretty. The hair is just alright. I do think Sasha's hair could look much better in this short style if she got highlights to reflect a little movement. I think that would take care of the "chocolate muffin" look. :)

I don't know, but she looks like a gymnast from the 70s - not good. Honestly I think only a very few people can carry off short hair (like Michelle Williams or Carey Mulligan). The only skater who looked remotely OK with short hair was Sarah Hughes and that's pushing it. I don't like when the hair flops around, but if it's too short it doesn't look good either. Even in the old days when short hair was rampant, it didn't look good, even on everyone from Debi Thomas to Sydne Vogel to Jill Trenary to Julia Sebestyen.
I have a friend who cut all her hair off and she looks GREAT. The thing is that now it's so short it doesn't flop around. I think short hair can work on everybody, but only when it's very short and becomes an extension of your head shape. Short hair looks pretty awkward in a poofy bob state, especially when you're skating and it moves around.

Many people mistakenly believe that a college education is the ticket to financial success. (It's not.) But for someone who's already financially successful, I think it's also good that they broaden their horizons instead of spending the rest of their life doing the same exact thing they were doing as a child.

But if Sasha enjoys her time skating with Stars on Ice, I don't begrudge her doing that full-time as long as she wishes.

I just hate when it's short in the back, almost shaved, and the front bangs do this "swoop" thing. It's very dated and awful looking. That looks like what Sasha has going on here.

She did! (I think she also had it maybe once in her Romeo and Juliet exhibition).
And it was a beautiful look.
A much better one than when she parts her hair to the side before putting them in a bun, which she started doing later on in her career.
The best she can do is french braids. Ponytails and buns after that, preferibly with no side parting.

I'm not sure what you mean by "swoop," but if you mean the bangs are long, they're not (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v211/Renee28/DSCN1888.jpg).

those are some short bangs, like when my sister got gum stuck in her hair and my other sister cut it out. understandable as an accident, on purpose not so much.

Yes, that looks really nice.

There's one other hairstyle she had that was my absolute favorite -- I'm trying to dig up a photo.

I believe this could be a link to what people are talking about:

Short hair never worked for Cohen, in my opinion.

:yikes: :scream:

Cohen definitely didn't hit this one.

Funny. - Poor Cohen: criticized for her loos, that must feel new to her.

Anyway, a few can pull even that on purpose and still look fabulous:
