Oh, just on facts (the GPF thing, for example)

O, thats interesting, what they said about GPF?

Well, first they said they hadn't lost all season. While technically true, it's a misnomer. Then they said that the last time they lost was at the GPF. Again, technically true, but the way they said it made it sound like they were correceting their first comment. A casual viewer wouldn't have understood what had happened.

I also didn't like that they said they didn't make the FD at 4CC. It sounded like they were too injured to qualify, not that they WD part way through.

Perhaps because V&M had done more classical romantic dances in the past few years it's easy to forget that Tessa can dance. Think of the Everybody Dance exhibition and the Latin OD from 2006. That OD is the reason why I was excited to learn that V&M had chosen a Latin program for their FD this season.

Those who get to see the show version of the FD live are so lucky. I've lost count of how many times I've watched V&M's FD since it aired on Universal. It was the highlight of the dance competition for me. :kickass:

V&M have almost always been equals when it comes to technical ability but IMO in the past couple of seasons Tessa caught up to Scott when it comes to expression. I have to say in this FD, my attention kept going to her. Miss Tessa was really working it.

I don't think it's completely fair to compare Barbara Fusar-Poli to Tessa. Babs retired from eligible competition for the final time in 2006. Also F/P&M's Latin OD from 99/00 was amazing in it's own right; even many who weren't normally fans gave credit where it was due to Babs and Maurizio. But V&M's FD and F/P&M's OD were different in feel. F/P&M's dance was more of a traditional structured ballroom piece while V&M's is more modern and freeform (I think I'm using the correct terminology). Both women know how to move their bodies to the Latin rhythm.

I loved Tessa's yellow/gold dress and she looked gorgeous in it. I'm awestruck by just how good V&M were on the night of the FD, especially given that most would say they definitely were not at 100%. I agree with flowerpower, as long as Tessa's legs hold up and they decide they want to remain in, I see V&M as being able to maintain their place as one of the top teams in the world. I see at least one more world championship in their future.

I only said that because we're used to perfection (especially after last year) so the odd little bobble was noticeable to me anyways. I give full kudos for them competing, training and showing that FD it was definitely awesome.

I like what they said about reaction on there FD in Moscow. Yes, we try support them a lot :))))) And that look, like specialists really like this year FD.
And what about this?
Virtue said the two can’t confirm they’ll compete next year — she says it’s “taboo” to talk about the future while the season’s still going on — but Moir said they’ll be back on the ice training at the beginning of June in preparation for the upcoming season.
Scott is funny

Quote from Tessa from the above article:

Virtue said the two can’t use the program for their free dance next season because the theme for next season’s short dance is also Latin.

“If we were able to skate, we could perhaps shorten it into a short dance,” she said.

Sweet!

Thanks for the links! They sure have been very busy, making up for their pre-Worlds silence. :)

Yes, that was a good interview. Interesting to see the lifts off-ice!

Whoever thought of making them do the lifts off ice on tv needs a raise. That was a great interview. They look tired, but still game. The temptation lift is hiding though. Is it rated too hot for CSOI and Marilyn Dennis show? Also, I thought it was funny about Tessa reminding Scott what exit to use during the goose lift demo. I mean it would be potentially disastrous if they miscued each other on what dismount to use wouldn't it?

Would love them to use it for the SD!

Would love this too, but with the required rumba CD pattern and all the other elements needed, there really would not be much time left for dancing would it? But WTH, I am not ready to let that FD go so bring it on for the SD no matter how short!

And on a highly superficial tidbit, Tessa apparently cannot ride a bike... who would have thought! Maybe she really is clumsy and awkward off ice as she claims. You Tessa Virtue may have an Olympic gold, but you still can't ride a bike! Hehe.. Sorry for the gloating, it made me feel better for some reason. I can be really shallow in some ways...
