i just reserved my "royal wedding hamper" with a bunch of tea sandwiches and whatnot to be picked up tomorrow night. i will supply my own tiara.

One of those awesome plastic ones from the 99 cents store? They're so stylish!

actually no, the official name is my Birthday Tiara (tm) and it is a rather nice vintage thing i accidentally wore out of the antique store one day. i forgot it was on my head. i thought, my everyone is so friendly today because everyone was waiving and smiling. then i caught my reflection in a window and saw that i had been wearing it for hours.

Must be comfy ... did you ever pay for it?

There was a skating coach who used to wear a tiara from Claire's (costume jewelry chain) every year on her birthday when she taught group lessons. The kids loved it, but they all wanted their own since they were in the company of royalty, lol.

- Lady Laurence Snoopy-Thompkins (Nah, the dog's name just isn't working for me)

A little bit of nonsense to while away the hours until it finally starts - this is doing the rounds on facebook:

What's your Royal Wedding guest name? Start with Lord or Lady. Your first name is one of your grandparents'. Double barrel your surname using your first pet and the street you grew up on.

Mine is Lord Henry Rex-Salisbury

LOL, well, picking and choosing among those I like... Lady Helena George-Hawthorne. (Going on "first pet" as "first of the fish they scooped out at the pet store." Otherwise, it could be Chirpy-Hawthorne, or Oscar-Hawthorne. For differing values of 'street where you grew up', it could also be George-Denver.)

I wore a tiara out to a club on my 21st birthday. Someone asked me if I was a princess, and I remember drunkenly (but not too drunk...I was a good girl) yelling "No- I'm a BIIIRTHDAY Girl!"
