Zhulin has coached singles skaters, Abt and Suguri. I don't think he's ever choreographed or coached for pairs, but my point remains. He's an expert on skating skills and a great choreographer. If the RSF lets him sit there, in Moscow, not working with ANY of their amateur skaters, in any capacity, they are fools.

As for Maria Mukhortova, Vasiliev said that she is exploring all options now, including skating in a show or looking for a new partner. But not training under him? I wish her well.

Maria is a beautiful pair skater, I know it's not easy, but hope she will come back.I agree.

Zhulin choreographed an exhibition pairs program- B&S's, and it was wonderful. I think he can choreograph pairs, even eligible programs, but I don't think he has or could coach a pair.

Zhulin choreographed EX for Volosozhar/Trankov, the one they performed at Russian Nats.
And P/B Chaplin free dance this year is his job, too.

Choreographing an exhibition programs for pairs is not the same as coaching pairs. Zhulin doesn't have the credentials to give advice to pairs and singles coaches. I don't know how his situation can even be compared to TAT's.

He has a lot to give in ice dance, I hope he can find talented students.

Do you remember which program it was, please?

Today I visited Elena Tchaikovskaya's skating school in Moscow (Strogino). This is an amazing facility with two ice rinks, two swimming pools, a gym, sauna, etc, even with a small hotel with rooms for skaters to rest in between practices. They are mostly building up the next generation and have 600 something children skating in the school. The only internationally known skaters I saw were Kristina Gorshkova/Vitali Butikov (not split up, skating together) and Artem Borodulin (who moved here from CSKA). Maxim Shipov (represents Israel) wasn't there but is training in this club as well. Among the coaches are Vladimir Kotin and Sergei Davydov.

Oh, how is Artem doing? I always thought he is the most talented of the current Russian male skaters but all his injuries got in the way...
Is he okay now? And happy with the coaching change?

The facility sounds amazing! Even better than Oberstdorf with the three rinks.

Yes, it was 'Smooth' by Santana, and it was gorgeous. It was different from their past exhibitions which were more lyrical, classical. Zhulin gave them a different look and Elena said she loved that program.

Artem seems to be happy and Elena Tchaikovskaya had praise for him. She said that he is healthy now.

I may be wrong, but I am thinking that Zhulin choreographed Ina & Zimmerman's SP in 2002. I don't remember the title of the music, and can't look it up right now (I am at work).
