Heading to Greensboro, Adam Rippon feels 'really good'

“I’m feeling really good and really healthy going into nationals,” he said. Rippon will be tweaking a few spins to maximize points, but otherwise he expects no changes to his programs.

While some predict that he will rival Jeremy Abbott for the gold, Rippon’s goal is to skate two strong programs and not worry about placements. “Jeremy is a fantastic skater and two time and reigning national champion but the only thing I’m focusing on is my own skating,” he demurred.

My hope for Adam is that he stays on his feet this year and finally wins a medal at nationals. He's given some really fantastic performances but then he's also given some really "lackluster" (as the author says) skates. Jeremy and Ryan have a similar problem -- could make for an interesting competition.

Big Cheers for Adam~ You can do it!

He's my favorite for the win.

And Ryan will be a treat for the crowd~ We saw him at the St. Louis Nationals where he brought down the house with his Saturday Night Fever Freeskate! If he medals, that's a bonus for him.

No bribes needed. Hopefully, I will be able to hang two new banners for him in the arena.

Adam graduated from high school a few years ago, right? The article is talking about delaying college?

Yes and yes.

From Rippon's Dec. 20, 2010 blog: http://www.figureskatersonline.com/adamrippon/blog.html

I recently took a trip to New York City to visit my costume designer, Stephanie Handler, and we're working on a "new and improved" Romeo [SP] costume. I loved the costume I skated in early this season but I think a little change in costume will bring out a different side of the choreography.

Maybe based on his skating club affiliation (SCNY). But we know he's from Clarks Summit, PA, right outside Scranton
