I thought this was newsworthy enough to have its own thread in GSD (link was posted in the Articles thread in the Euros forum in Kiss and Cry):

Great news: Stéphane Lambiel will skate at the exhibition in Bern. He got the permission from the ISU. :cheer2:

The article also features a video of Sarah Meier skating with kids.

I think this is a move that competitions need to begin taking. His name has got to sell a few extra tickets!

It was apparently hard to get the permission.

This is a great precedent to set - and no one, in Europe, to do it better than Lambiel. Lucky folks who will be there.

Nevertheless, wonderful news! :swoon:

Great for the swiss fans... Euros in Switzerland and without Lambiel didnt seem right.. At least we'll enjoy him at the Gala.

He attended Thin Ice,so he can't attend ISU invents in two years.

It's apparently a special permission from ISU,maybe the tickets selling didn't go well :P
