Just saw that too. Wasn't it rather sudden? I hadn't heard about him being sick, but then, I guess they don't report it every time a famous person comes down with pneumonia.
Poor Julie. :(
R.I.P.

For those, like me, who didn't know who this is to save you time googling- he was a director/producer famous for Breakfast at Tiffany's and Pink Panther.

Oh, no. :( I knew he was getting along, but I had no idea he was ill. I've always loved BaT, and although Victor/Victoria was mostly OTT, it had some great moments as well. Never cared much for the Pink Panther movies.
He and Julie Andrews were such a classy couple. She is another favorite of mine, and what with the loss of that marvelous singing voice of hers and now the death of her husband, I hope she'll be able to overcome these hardships.

For me, his greatest movie was S.O.B. Sheer brilliance!

Thank you for adding this- I knew I had heard the name before, but I didn't recognize it.

taf, you're the only other person I know of who has even heard of that movie. I laughed so hard I had two asthma attacks watching that movie for the first time.
I still remember Julie Andrews' boob-baring scene with great fondness. The only scene of gratuitous nudity that I've ever loved.

Aww, may he R.I.P. He and Andrews were still married? She must be so upset. :(

Yes, they were still married.
:fragile:. Flawed as it was, I enjoyed Breakfast at Tiffany's. I loved Experiment in Terror and The Days of Wine and Roses.
