You mean you wouldn't go out with your green eyelids shining halucinagenically from three blocks away?

I would.

I'm sure there are a few hundred high school girls wearing it like that as we post, though.

I admit, I was prone to cosmetic excesses in high school as much as anyone but this is clownish, in a scary clown way.

Mothers, you have a civic duty to educate your young daughters to say no to radioactive soylent green eye shadow. :mitchell:

If PRrebel got that lecture from her mommy she'd be wearing the green eye shadow up to her temples.

Yeah, it's tricky. May be PRLady could try reverse psychology by wearing it herself and horrifying the bejezus out of PRrebel? Only inside the house, that is.

No, I mean if PRlady got that lecture from PRmommy then she'd be wearing it up to her temples. PRkid may react differently. Actually, yeah, if PRkid saw PRlady wearing it then she would probably do her own makeup Amish style.

That's what I am talking about: protect the younger generation from the psychedelic green alien vomit Chernobyl sludge make-up. Whatever it takes.

Where I last taught full time, in a high school with 90 kids, 60% boys, I had two girls who wore eye shadow like that every day. And in the much larger high school where I currently sub, I see at least one display of such eye shadow on a girl for every full day in the building.

There is a little subculture of high school girls who love to over do that particular cosmetic. There is a larger one that is addicted to very thickly applied black eyeliner on both the upper and lower lids. Fortunately, few are in both camps.

I had to convince one of the offenders that she could not wear a thick layer of purple or green eyeshadow with her costume when appearing in Nunsense. When I vetoed all of her favorite colors, she appealed to the male director that she be allowed to wear thick grays to create a smoky eye. For playing a nun.

If that's the case, who is Maybelline directing this ad to? Who is going to be impressed by that picture to actually want to go out and buy this travesty?

Huh. That's actually a really good idea for a costume.

Then you are in need of the Maybelline New York Eye Studio Color Explosion Shadow in Forest Fury. :P

I am going as the Duchess of Cambridge. Got my fascinator and everything. No fly-away skirts though.

I swear I did not see this before posting in the Glee thread just now, to wit that if I were in HS these days I'd look like Quinn's new look: http://thestir.cafemom.com/beauty_style/126266/quinns_new_skank_look_on

PRmommy had her hands full. ;)

PRkid is predictably conservative in makeup and clothing. ;)

I can't wait to see what my granddaughter comes up with. I hear it skips a generation.
