^What? This is almost worse than the GP season.

Felicia Zhang has apparently withdrawn, too, though there isn't any official confirmation...yet.

 :(

Them's droppin' like flies...damn.

ETA: Who would theoretically replace Zhang, though?

Here's some proof: http://figureskatersonline.com/news/2011/01/22/u-s-nationals-notebook-january-22/

:( Hope she's better soon!

Accordingly, for the fourth time in about as many days...(are you guys sick of these? I don't know why I keep posting them. If you are, tell me)
1st group (18-23): Narita, Bell, Traunero, West, Zhou
2nd group (13-17): Khazova, Forte, Kawamura, Kahle, Musademba
3rd group (7-12): Siraj, Lam, Gong, C. Zhang, Bulanhagui, Gilles
4th group (1-6): Zawadzki, Gao, Czisny, Flatt, Wagner, Nagasu

Seriously, some of these people are getting major boosts.

Nobody...she was also byed to Nationals. Her JGP event gave her a bye through Regionals and her Skate America (pairs) assignment gave her a bye through Easterns.

Yikes. If you read towards the bottom of the article, it sounds like there were rumors that Rachael Flatt was contemplating a withdrawal

I think that was pure speculation by fans after the GPF. From the sounds of the recent IN article, I don't believe Flatt has ever had any intention of withdrawing.

She can always wait until after the SP to withdraw, you know, if she bombs. I'm majorly bummed about all these withdrawals, it puts these ladies' chances of being selected for international competitions next season in jeopardy. Baga and Cesario were probably hoping to debut on the SGP, but now that neither will compete at nationals and therefore not have a shot to be assigned to 4CC or Junior Worlds, that's not going to help their World Standings at all. Same goes for Amanda, who didn't score too well at her internationals this fall.

I don't even remember any fans speculating that. Maybe just Phil Hersh deciding she'd enroll at Stamford.

I totally skimmed over that as pure speculation left after the GP. Shows how closely I read!

Also, I didn't make it this far earlier, but there's live streaming from the practice rink! Now we can ALL watch practices!

According to the Lynn Rutherford's twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/LynnRutherford)

Zhang/Toth withdraw; Felicia has rib injuries that prevent pairs. She is still competing sr ladies

Uggh but I want Kiri and Amanda! I could care less about Felicia (no offense to anyone else)... Besides is it smart for her to compete with rib injuries?

Rib injuries......ahhhh Right?

The competition doesn't begin until Thursday. Let's see if the answer changes. It doesn't sound smart to compete with a rib injury, but I'm no expert.
