Well it's not as bad as the Chinese women's gymnastics teams in 1991 and 1993. They actually got penalized I think because their leos rode too high front and back. A bit too cheeky for the judges taste. :D

Cutting them higher over the sides of the hip gives the illusion of longer legs, I suppose. Didn't athletes at the original Games compete nude? I'd vote for that, for the Summer Games anyway. ;)
