Well, best time of the year for me.....in case you didn't watch 60 Minutes last night, they had a piece on Zenyatta.

Here's the official site with current nominations:

Breeder's Cup (http://www.breederscup.com/)

Cool that 2 Mares highlight the day with Goldikova attempting a "threepeat" in the Turf Mile and Zenyatta attempting to remain undefeated and win the Classic for the 2nd time in a row. Very exciting.

Does anyone know which, if any, of the Sports Networks in Canada will be covering it?

One of my favourite weekends of the year. My parents are huge horse racing fans and raised me to love it as well, so this is one of those few times where we all have a shared interest. :)

True story...Back when I was only six months old and it was Kentucky Derby Day, my Parents, my Sister and Brother in Law and my Grandpa decided to put the names of the horses in that year's Derby into a hat and if whomever's choice won, then they also got the pot that was gathered in the hat after the name pulling. Which was $20 each. My Brother in Law decided it would only be fair if I also got to "choose" and he gallantly donated "my" $20 for the pot.

I ended up winning it. The name of the horse?

Honest to God true story!! :)

8 is a good spot for Z. And, btw, she's blogging from Churchill now.

Where is her blog? Part of the official BC web site or somewhere else?

Awww..... So cute! I admire Mike for the way he's been so open, but I really hope he won't make any mistakes because he's feeling so emotional!

 Calvin Borel attacked Javier Castellano in the winner's circle after the Marathon! And he still has to be restrained a couple of minutes after the incident! Martin Garcia was unseated but managed to avoid falling! :yikes:

Eldaafer set a track record. Prince Will I Am was disqualified from second, and deservedly so.

WTH?!? Why?

WTH?!? Why?
Castellano angled Prince Will I Am out sharply at the last turn, crossing the paths of three or four horses. Garcia's horse almost went down, and Borel's horse nearly ran into that one. It's amazing Garcia managed to stay on.

Javier Castellano, rider of Prince Will I Am came in dramatically on Martin Garcia's horse and in turn Garcia's horse knocked into Borel's horse A.U. Minor. After they dismounted, Calvin came after Javier and did the finger pointing and yelling. I think Castellano swung first with his fist and it sent Calvin into a further rage. He landed a few blows, got pulled off and dragged off down the track.

I feel bad for all, but Martin Garcia almost got unseated, his horse went down on it's knees. Martin took it gracefully, Calvin did not.
Javier Castellano is a gentleman and I'm sure did not realize the severity of the infraction. He should be given some serious time off and Calvin should get some days off too.

Congrats to Bobby Flay from FoodTV network...his 2yr old More than Real just won the Juvenile Filly Turf. He's a real lover of horse racing and I always have liked the sire More than Ready. Favorite Winter Memories came in second. There was an objection by Jose Lezcano saying that Garrett Gomez came in on his horse....but it actually was the horse ridden by K. Desormeux.

Dubai Majesty easily wins the Filly & Mare Sprint.

No objections, no disqualifications, no assaults, no photo-finish, no errors loading the starting gate (as happened in the previous race).

Fight on the Churchill Downs Undercard (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvaA84KtUsI)

Awesome Feather wins the Juvenile Fillies to go 6-for-6. Very pretty little filly. :)
