France - Amaury Vassili

A 21-year old, very porny opera singer. Very successful in France, 250 thousand copies of his debut album have been sold.

I keep seeing ads for him between commercials for washing powder and coffee beans .

PML that something called KNOB will be her competition just when she thought she'd gotten rid of it. ;)

And her song is called "Ding Dong".

Just a reminder that the Irish final is taking place tomorrow evening from 9:35 Irish time. There was a preview of the songs this afternoon on the radio and I'm still calling it a two-horse race between Jedward and Nikki Kavanagh. Both fairly modern songs and both would make good entries in my opinion. Shame they are competing against each other as they would have walked it in any other year.

The producers of the group Bling complained about a 30 second snippet of Jedward's song being on Amazon, so RTE have now changed the waiting of the public and jury votes. Public will be 33% and jury will be 67%. I don't think it'll make much difference. Bling will come dead last. :P

Still, the two songs you mentioned are light years better than anything we've entered in a decade. Jedward is actually excellent...but they can;t sing live - not even remotely. Is auto tune allowed in the competition this year?

Nikki - Falling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L30qZRr7LdE) (full song)
Intro sounds like One Republic Apologise
Jedward - Lipstick (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf0cXUZWjv0) (full song)
It's quite fresh. A bit Britney Spears actually.....

That Celtic Woman thing is a multi million dollar business, wouldn't The Vard Sisters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdmY17kdc0o) do well?

Apparently, Rebecca from BelleAmie (Xfactor) will be singing on Jedward's track too, is this true?

No. I think they can get away with it with this song. It doesn't need perfect vocals. Thankfully.

Two problems: they're ancient and their song is crap.

And they need to eat a few more cheeseburgers if they want to sing about angels like Chiara. :saint:

I've heard that too.

Back to Dana International, I found this behind the scenes documentary of 1998:

Eys, Ireland is good for Eurovision always. I need good real English to educate my ears! :drama: (and everybody knows that Ireland is that Island where even the sheeps sing fine)
