Thanks for taking part! :cheer2:

Meanwhile, an article about Jedward in Bild (http://twitpic.com/4u3pq2). at the teddybear hightops.

 at Bild getting the facts wrong as always. Apparently Jedward won the X Factor in 2009

I wouldn't be surprised if Jedward make it far. Their huge ego is really helping. It's a bit like the Plush effect! If u look convincing, people buy it despite the crap u perform :P

Austria have voted :)

Thanks to Allezfred for doing this again :respec: It's a lot of fun, eventhough I bitch about how bad the songs are  Found two I really liked this year though!

Dana International had a second rehearsal (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJCEDypvdv0&feature=channel_video_title) in which she revealed her Jean Paul Gaultier's dress.

She also had a press conference (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAKCxfVPjfw&feature=player_embedded)right after it. Some funny moments with her there.

Ok, so I'm in the US, but I'm still obsessed with the contest. I'm actually into a few of the songs this year, but I'm sure my favorites won't go very far.

Can I just ask a question of you guys? Am I the only one who listened to "Lipstick" and tried to figure out why I couldn't stop listening to Jedward?

Which ones are your faves? You should have taken part in our Eurovision poll!

Because it's a total earworm and say what you want about their singing abilities (which I don't think are that bad), but they have charisma. Whether it's good or bad charisma I'm not sure, but they have something.

I totally missed it! Bummer.
My favorites ATM are Switzerland, Finland, Serbia and Iceland. I'm guessing I'm in the minority on most of those...

They really do! I can kind of picture Ireland taking home a 7th crown.

I've so lost count on Ireland! I was listening to "Rock and Roll Kids" the other day, and I can only imagine the look on that Polish girl's face when Ireland took it home for the third time in a row!

Well Switzerland, Finland and Iceland qualified for our FSU Final, so others like them too. And Serbia were very close and quite a few people liked their song too.

If you want to PM me your Top 11 songs from our FSU Final (http://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/showthread.php?t=77995), I can assign you a country. There is always somebody who doesn't have time to vote. :)

8th. ;)

But we'll be :cheer2: with qualifying to the final and perhaps a top 10.

The press conference was hilarious, especially the part when she talked about the meaning of her song title.

Finland´s representative Paradise Oscar, alias Axel Ehnström, 20, is supported by whole of his village Evitskog. On next Tuesday, when the first semifinal takes place, the village council organises a watching party in the common Youth House (I don´t know the proper term in English, sorry).

If he gets to the final, there will be another party in Saturday, with German themed food buffet. Living only 25 mins drive from there, I am tempted to go.

It is a bit like Stephane Lambiel´s little village supporting him. Axel belongs to the Swedish-speaking minority of Finns (5%), and their rights to speak their own language has been severely critizised by the "True Finns" party, who won the parlamential election in April. This party also thinks that climate change is not true.

So, "Da da dam" has actually bigger political meaning than Paradise Oscar maybe ever could have guessed in the current Finnish political life. I don´t want to mix Eurovision song contest and the politics, but it just happened here in Finland. Odd.
