Aurela (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cO7Axnov_qw)is very gifted, vocally and interpretively but this song sounds like the typical Southern folk songs here meh.

Hotel FM to represent Romania.

Not bad. Can a tune be both banal and catchy?
01-01-2011, 05:23 AM
it's not bad, it reminds me of a jingle for a long distance phone plan
Switzerland, Albania and Romania all really suck so far. /sigh
Albanian song will be remade a lot probably before Eurovision. English lyrics and new production. That's what usually happens. I can imagine it being a fairly decent power ballad but it remains to be seen.

Jedward confirmed for Irish national final (http://www.rte.ie/ten/2011/0113/jedward.html) Who'd be your choice?

Who'd be your choice?
It doesn't matter because Jedward are going to win.
Nikki Kavanagh is a singer, presenter and make-up artist (http://www.nikkikavanagh.com/). Apparently. She was a backing singer last year in Oslo.
The Vard Sisters (http://www.vardsisters.com/) are a kind of Celtic Woman new agey act. I think they finished 2nd in the Irish final in 1998.
No idea who the EMI quartet are. Girlband I'm guessing.
Don Mescall (http://www.donmescall.com/) sang a duet with Shae-Lynn Bourne.

I hope Jedward win, I have a soft sport for them

Bosnia & Herzegovina
Israeli broadcaster IBA has asked to EBU to grant them a spot in the second Semi-Final, due to their memorial day on the 10th of May. German Host Broadcaster NDR asked the EBU to allocate them to broadcast and vote in the second Semi-Final for scheduling reasons. Both requests have been granted.
Five countries have already qualified for the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest, being United Kingdom, France, Germany (the Host Country), Spain and making their return after 13 years - Italy. Rep to Poths if he can tell me what song Switzerland is reminding me of, the first few seconds and I have this song in my head but I can't place it. Driving me crazy.
Iceland had their first selection show last Saturday. Didn't think much of the first five songs. Not even worth linking to. Next five songs for this Saturday are:
So Jóhanna Guğrún is back again (chick in the blue dress who was runnerup to boy from Norway). Last song in that list of 5, Eldgos (Volcano), is about the eruption. I suppose someone had to do it
I heard Magnus from Rockstar will an entry this year as well.
